Golden Lake Cake & Roast

Came here for bubble tea and decided to pack some roast for dinner.
We are very delighted to have gotten these tasty meat. The duck was superb the crispy skin roasted pork was done up so nicely we want to finish the bones as well. Definitely going to be back there for more.
Maybe next time we would try the pastries too.

Great range of baked sweets. Sticky rice is good and the deep fried shrimp dumplings is amazing

This place is definitely a hidden treasure. Lots of yummy Cantonese food sold here without going into a Chinese restaurant. Egg tart is the best and made with many layers of puff pastry. Super authentic Cantonese recipe. Their big pork bun is another best where it is very hard to find in Melbourne. They also have others such as Malaysian cake (aka ma lai gao) and variety of roasted meat. Their food quality is ok and the price very reasonable. Worth the trip. Their bun can buy in hot or cold. This shop is walking distance to train station and bus stop. Car park is also nearby. This shop is a takeaway shop, no dine in tables.

I love their roasted pork the most, not salty at all! The other menus they have must be tasted as well, I especially addicted to their 'pork organs' and the chicken feet, my favs all the time, price wise is reasonable as well.

I always go here for my bbq duck and siu yuk. Haven’t found anywhere better in Melb. Lo mai gai also worth a try 👌

Tried the Roast Pork and Soy Dipping Sauce. The Roast pork was succulent, but tender inside. Marinade was flavourful. There's a bit of sweetness, but savoury. The skin is crispy. Even though it was oily and not as crunchy as I thought it would be, compared to most roast pork. But it was still a good roast pork. The atmosphere of the shop and pork reminds me of Hong Kong and Chinese restaurants selling these. However, I do wish it was cut more evenly. The soy sauce was delicious. Definitely taste sweet, almost like a mix between Hoisin and Soy Sauce. But great to dip the pork into. It is a childhood place to buy roast pork, and will always be happy to buy from this place.

Nice sticky rice and fried taro balls. Tarts are ok too, crispy and not to eggy. The roast meats are also good, the two usual guys serving are also very friendly which helps

Located just at the right of the front entrance, this shop has two sections. The front at the window is for the roast, having slabs of crispy skin roast pork, soy sauce chicken, roast duck and sweet roast pork hung on metal rails, can clearly be seen through the front windows by passerby.

There bakkwa or rougan of chicken, pork and beef come in two flavours, honey and chili. The Honey Pork is more familiar to Singaporeans and Malayians. Crispy Pork Floss can be eaten as it is, or used as filling in a bread roll or sandwich.

Another popular item is the Bahn Mi roll with a variety of fillings.

The second section is further inside to the atrium. In the L-shape display unit are mouth watering pastries, biscuits, desserts and dim sum item. I love the big meat bun, which is big enough to satisfy one's hungry stomach.

The Roast meats are simply superb. Always tasty, juicy and tender. Pork belly with the best crackling, roast duck with crispy skin. Mouth is watering just thinking about it.
