Ira Alvarez – The basis of your complaint is a complete myth. The Chinese Methodist Church didn't own this property until they bought it from Prospect Road Uniting Church about a decade ago. They would have no idea who your family is. If you'd spoken in Mandarin, they might have been able to direct you.

My father passed away in October 2018. He grew up in the area, met his wife (my mother) in the activities organised by this church and eventually he married my mother in this church. When my mother passed away, we had her funeral service here. It seemed fitting to have his funeral service here also. So it was to my complete surprise that when I rang to ask if the church was available, the answer was "no", with no explanation or further discussion. I didn't even get the opportunity to suggest a date. And here I was thinking religion was a compassionate and considerate endeavour. Disgraceful.
