Airport Ice Cream

Love that there is a food bus at this tourist attraction where you can get a variety of food and beverages while watching the planes! We ordered fish n chips, hsp and coffee and all of them were pretty good. The people who serve are also super nice.

I've stopped here quite a few times to Plane watch.
Airport Ice Cream used to be a little truck, now it's a huge, bright red bus, located just on the Sunbury side of Melbourne Airport on the very busy Melbourne Sunbury Road.
Not just ice cream, but all sorts of take away food and beverages.
We had a few dishes, the CigKofta served cold with lettuce leaves and a slice of lemon.
And the freshly cooked Turkish Manti, delicious meaty little dumplings smothered in garlic yoghurt and a home made tomatoe sauce. YUMM!
Freshly made Espresso Latté was great as well.
On a nice sunny day watching planes land, roaring in just over our heads and enjoying a quick meal is a great way to spend a half hour or so.
No toilets.
A few metal benches to sit on dotted through the car park.
There is a dirt and gravel car park, right next to the extremely busy Melbourne/Sunbury highway.
If you have young children or pets keep them close as there is no fencing, and these roads are extremely busy.

We unexpectedly had a stop at the end of the Melbourne Airport runway, primarily to watch the planes land and take off.

Luckily for us, there we found Airport Ice Cream! We had the caramel milkshake, a spinach gozleme and the mixed HSP. They were SO GOOD!!!! And the gents were just lovely. One of them set us up on milk crates and a park bench as a table. 5 star service!

But most of all, we loved the food. And the fabulous service. And the gozlemes. Did I mention the gozlemes? Soooo good!!!

Highly recommend!!

It's crazy to think one of the best doner kebabs I've ever had is from here and I'm middle eastern wow impressive

I love this place. The ice cream here reminds me of my childhood. I don’t know what it is. Maybe they kept the cream the same or something. But the recipe they use makes the flavour nostalgic. I can’t find this flavour profile at other places including the other ice cream trucks.

They also so amazing chips as well. Literally always perfect soft on the inside crunchy on the outside. Never come out soggy or over cooked.

And it’s a bit out of the way to travel. But even then, the location with all the planes coming down to land is just beautiful

I’m going to go down there and have some more of the ice cream now :)

Great range of eats, ice creams, slushis, doughnuts, kebabs etc. Underneath Runway 16 flight path.

So good! Rice meal was delicious. Jam donuts amazing. Do yourself a favour.

Been coming here for the last 20 years. Never been disappointed. Always love coming and grabbing a cup of Gelati and watching the planes. Become a tradition

Best place any day in the evening for an Ice cream and hot food. Mostly with a girlfriend.

Good service and amazing food

Excellent rainbow gelato, served with a smile, and a big side of nostalgia from coming here as a child. The airport ice cream truck is an iconic Melbourne experience.

When the big van is there it's great ,love the hot jam donuts and love watching the planes go over.
