The Spice Yard

We had been craving pakora and decided to try The Spice Yard. So glad we found this restaurant as the food was amazing and so tasty. The pakora and cheesy garlic nan were delicious. The service was also great and friendly, we felt really welcomed. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

The woman serving us was so attentive, kind, and great at her job. We ordered the new alcoholic goat curry, and it came out on fire and tasted amazing!

What a great experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our food, service and overall experience. Highly recommend Mallika, she is fantastic at her job, so inviting, gave us the great recommendation of the Chicken Lollipop and it exceeded our expectations- having a modern and classic dish infused into one! Highly recommend and will be making Spice Yard our local!

Food was brilliant! Malika was very helpful and had great knowledge of all the dishes. I had a cocktail and they didn’t skimp of the alcohol. They checked we were ready for our mains after entree which I wish more restaurants did. All the food was perfectly seasoned and flavourful. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure!

Have eaten here numerous times and it just keeps getting better! Food is just beautiful as is the service. Large menu including plenty of vegan options. Can’t go past the tandoori mushrooms & chicken tikka. Excellent.

Just wow. Delicious food 🍲 and great service. Malika was extremely friendly and she's very caring towards customers. The food was amazingly good. Best sizzler I have ever eaten in Melbourne. A must go for all the non-veg food lovers. The veg food was also impeccably tasty.

Found this restaurant through a Google search and thought we would give it a try. What an amazing little place this is. From service to the food we could not fault it! We had never tried tandoori mushrooms- yummy!!! The mango prawn and palak paneer were also yummy!!!! We’ll definitely be back to bring the whole family here (just so we can try more of the menu) and of course to enjoy the delicious foods. My only dislike was the raita, but maybe that’s because I’m used to the way dad would make it. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Went there for dinner last night the food and drinks both were incredible. Onion bhaji, penner tikka masala and fish amritsari were awesome . I appreciate chef for the garlic naan . For drinks mango lassi is must have. Staff were incredible overall we had good experience

The vegan food is delicious and so many options! The vegan desert, coconut ice cream was yummmy. The staff were so helpful and gave great suggestions.

Loved the food. The naans were so soft. Go for the butter naan. Also, the hostess Mallika was truly sweet and provided great service. Very welcoming. Definitely returning!

I can't believe I didn't visit this place sooner! The food is amazing, the staff lovely and very helpful. We will be definitely coming back for more! We had butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, some dumplings, tandoori chicken and fried paneer. Soooo good!!!!!

I know my Indian food inside out. Tonight was how the ‘burbs’ can pull off great Indian food and we should all check our ‘expectations’ of where and how food Indian food can be in the suburbs - at the door. The lovely Ekam greeted and made us very welcome. The menu is extensive and if this platform allows it, I will include all the pages of the menu. It’s long and extensive, with plenty for the vegetarian.
We had the oh so traditional chicken tikka, with lamb korma, aloo paratha, rice and raita. But first came the papadams with a trio of condiments that set the scene for the next courses. This part of the meal is ‘on the house’.
Portion sizes were good and served at reasonable intervals.
Wine list excellent with Pepperjack Shiraz a nice addition to the reds section. Full bar available.
Wheelchair friendly. High chairs available. Large restaurant that could easily cater for functions over 100. A must try in Altona.

Best Indian restaurant ever!! Very good service especially from mallika as she made me try the cheesy garlic naan which is the best naan I’ve ver tried!!!!!!
