Ordered a Ebi prawn sando, flavours were perfectly balanced between crispy batter, savoury prawn and pillowy bread. Bit pricey but if you want to experience a very very good Japanese sando, this is the place to go to.

It's one of the best Sando I have tried. The meat is soft and juicy with a spicy or strong sauce paired with it. We tried the Wagyu, Prawn, and Pork Sando. All three were excellent! The packaging and presentation are outstanding and come with hand wipes.

The only criticism is that the pork Sando should be paired with a sweet sauce and not a strong flavoured one. Pork pairs well with sweet sauce like an apple or a jam, which helps with fatty meat.

Be warned, even though the Sando looks small, it's very filling. Also, the dining area is small. They have 1 large table with a divider in the middle. Which is fun and adds to the experience, but be cautious if you are a large family.

Amazing food, keep up the good work!

Best Japanese Sandos in Melbourne, pricey but you know you're paying for quality. I usually get the Kurobuta Pork Katsu Sando, Check it out!

One of the best wagyu sandos for the money. Have also tried their prawn sando and it’s darn good.

Very tasty sandos with good amount of filling. Shokupan was soft and fluffy without the crust, meat was tender and didn't felt greasy with the panko coating. A little pricey especially the wagyu beef but was worth trying. Also had the cube castella which had a sponge cake-like texture, slightly dense but not dry. The matcha and houjicha was topped with a layer of ganache which enhanced the tea flavour while adding a pleasant sweetness; very good cakes.

Went in at 12pm for lunch and got the Iced Hojicha, Kurobuta Pork and Prawn Sando.

The cold hojicha paired well with the warm, flavoursome sandos. The prawn was soft and succulent while the kurobuta pork was juicy and tender.

Best sando in town! First time trying Saint Dreux after hearing many great things about it. If you’re in Melbourne and want Japanese-style sandwiches, this is the place to go. This Wagyu and Prawn tempura was a great pick and a must try. This wagyu was tender, juicy and perfectly medium rare. Just the right amount of fattiness marbled through that beef for a sandwich too. To top that all off the soft white slices of bread were toasted golden on one side which gave the whole sandwich a beautiful overall texture. Pricey but delicious!

The Emporium store is very small, the larger store on Collins st is closed. However, there is seating there so people could sit and relax. There’s also plenty of space to study there. Their hojicha lattes taste very milky but I enjoy their matcha one even though they've been sold out of matcha for a while.

Great sando, cake and hojicha latte. The wagyu sando was done perfectly - the wagyu beef was juicy and tender, it just melts in your mouth - the bread was soft and toasted just right - the sauce goes well with the beef. Though, i think it is quite expensive for a relatively small sando, it is very delicious.
The sesame cake was packed full of sesame flavour, loved it.
Hojicha latte was on the sweeter side, with good hojicha flavour.
The pork katsu Sando was done just right, tender pork, crispy skin and soft bread.
The chicken katsu Sando was good too, it has a spicy mayo sauce.
The iced matcha latte was also on the sweeter side, and could have a stronger tea flavour.

Absolutely love the katsu-sando! Pork, chicken, prawn, there are no bad choices, everything is delicious. And the hojicha drinks are worth a visit all by themselves.

I found this place after researching for latest food trend and newcomer in Melbourne, and this place stood out as I like katsu. I got the impression from reading the reviews that it can be popular and get sold out, so I arrived at 11am and it was quiet. I got a wagyu and pork katsu, and three castella cakes, original, hojicha and black sesame.

The katsu sando we’re absolutely sublime especially the wagyu. Katsu were crispy, wagyu was cooked to perfection, pork was perhaps slightly dry but the mustard sauce/ mayo provide enough moisture to complement it. The bread was soft and provide enough substance to give an overall balanced texture.

The castella cakes were nice but nothing special. The original was probably the best, hojicha was really subtle.

I would definitely go back for the wagyu sando. It is pricey but there is immense joy in eating a quality a sando.

I visited Saint Dreux for the first time today and tried their Chicken Katsu Sando. The chicken was juicy yet flavourful with the sauce. I like how the bread is fluffy and not soggy which is quite common with sandwiches. Although it is quite pricey, the portion is good and quite filling. I would definitely visit here again to try out their coffee and other sando flavours.

There is absolutely no competition. Saint Dreux makes the best sandos that I’ve ever eaten. Every time I visit Melbourne, I make sure I add Saint Dreux onto my itinerary, even if it’s out of the way. Even if you’re not into sandwiches normally, I would definitely recommend coming here and having either the chicken katsu sando or the Wagyu beef sando. You won’t regret it!

Love this place! Inside St Collins Lane, this Japanese Sando bar is an icon! This is a must-go and a go-again kind of place!
We came here for lunch (for two), the place only provides takeaway as it is inside the food court, but the food is of highest quality and very delicious.
Loving the prawn sando and iced hojicha!

Everything here is amazing! If I had to choose one katsu, it would either be the prawn or pork. Wagyu katsu is very expensive, and I think I prefer the other katsus be honest. The castella is delicious and moist. The hojicha latte is by far the best I've ever had - full of flavour and creamy.

What amazing Sandos here. We tried their tonkatsu, Ebi and chicken. Each sando was boxed in a sturdy box. The flavouring of all the sandos were so rich and flavourful. The crunchiness of the batter to the tenderness of the meats was so perfect.

$28 for beef sandwich?!! Well…
It was absolutely worth it!! Juicy wagyu beef deep fried with airy panko crumbs, soft pillowy white bread, sauce packed with umami!! It’s foodgasm!!

Loved their Iced filter coffee too! Clean flavor, generous serving!

Would you pay $28 for a sandwich? - this is the question that Saint Dreux is asking the people of Melbourne. The $28 option is the most expensive option - which is a crustless white bread sandwich with wagyu beef kastu. The marbling is around the 8-9 mark, so you're getting top quality cuts of wagyu.

Whether it's worth $28 is a different story. It's definitely slick, stylish, the meat was good.

What I will say is that I'm keen to try the chicken and pork options, which weren't as costly. The coffee was good (and not expensive), and if you're not wanting a sandwich, the pastries look delightful. The black and white styling of this place, the packaging, the service - as with anything that costs more than $5, you're paying for the experience and the service and quality. There are more affordable options, and you get the same look and feel as if you paid the $28 option. If nothing else, you'll get an excellent cup of coffee here.
