The most amazing dining experience in Melbourne so far!💯

We went here on Valentine's day cause they don't only offer set menu, that's such my plus point for a restaurant when it comes to a special day/occasion cause we both are not eating certain foods. However Sake is impressed me!

Coming into the vibes and services, they really did it well, warm welcome, great service and attitude from all staffs💖

Now go onto the foods, as a sushi lovers OMG their sushi is amazing, fresh and outstanding👏 We were thinking to order one more food and Chicken Karaage it was! You better try it yourself, I have no words but IT'S THE BEST KARAAGE I'VE EVER HAD🤤

What a beautiful location across the water on Southbank... so picturesque
The food was incredibly fresh and beautiful presented. Lobster sushi was our fav. Highly recommended premium quality Japanese cuisine, intimate setting and romantic but also a great vibe on a summer night with friends 🩵

The food is good and high quality. Service is excellent.
One of the best Japanese fine dining in Melbourne.
For the same price, don’t go to Akaiiito!

Wet night in Melbourne. We sat outside as they had great heaters and we were warm all night. Service very professional and attentive. Slightly pricey but well worth it and shared all plates. Food was amazing.
The pilot noise Mount Macleod was exceptional

SAKE – Hamer Hall

Sake sits underneath Hamer Hall on the banks of the Yarra providing a fabulous setting for a wonderful restaurant. This is seriously good Japanese food served in a stylish atmosphere and with a quality service team to look after all your needs.

The one thing they could improve is the choice of music. Last night the doof doof was a bit loud and made it very difficult to hear in a busy restaurant. I prefer not to shout over the dinner table. As I said though, it looks great and the service is fantastic.

Naturally, we opted to share our meal and combined three starters with a main dish.

First was the Shumai, perfectly steamed prawn dumplings served with spicy ponzu. I mean perfect, these are melt in your mouth dumplings and I could easily have ordered more and more.

Next up on the table were the Agedashi Tofu and the Nasu Dengaku. The fried tofu is served with tentsuyu, king brown mushrooms and snow pea sprouts. The Nasu Dengaku is fabulously prepared eggplant smothered in an amazing den miso marinade that has you making sure you mop up every bit of it.

The best dish of the night is the most wonderful Miso Glazed Ora King Salmon served with den miso and pickles and we opted for the broccolini and some rice as accompaniments. The salmon is outrageously delicious and you may need to order your own serving rather than sharing.

I love Sake and use it as a regular pre-theatre dinner option (we were off to see Rent) when attending the Arts Centre. You really should try it.

Excellent dinner experience. We ordered the set dinner Take No Hana. The entrees were slightly bland, however all the following dishes were amazing. The miso salmon was very well balanced and the sauce complemented the fish very well. The short ribs were cooked well, with a smokey flavour. The dessert we had was a chocolate moose with seasame ice cream which was an excellent end to the meal.

The service was good, however due to the busy restaurant the edamame we ordered never came.

Visited Saké for the very first time and my first experience was great! Atmosphere was nice and definitely in the mood for the crowd it takes, food was small proportion as what you would expect on a fancy resto however it all tasted amazing! Service was nice, all very friendly. We just ordered through a number of dishes and didn’t pick the set menu. Overall, would recommend if you want something fancy!

What a beautiful moment ! I stopped for a pint Asahi by sunny weather and tried a Dassai 45 Saké : amazing ! If you like smooth and dry Sake go for it ! Bartender and staff are really friendly and know their jobs ! It was a pleasure to spend time here ! Will definitely come back to try the restaurant ! Thanks to everyone !

Have been here a few times with different friends & more than happy to return again - being one of my favourite places for Japanese fusion.

This visit we settled for two small & two large & a salad ;
steamed prawn dumpling shumai & popcorn shrimp - delicate & delicious.
Fragrant Duck Breast - morsels of tender duck, Cape Grim Short rib - tender, tasty nicely balanced with house salad.

We decided on palette cleansers of white sesame icecream & raspberry sorbet - another satisfying visit ….. bookings highly recommended as this place is buzzingly busy!!

First date night with my wife was at Sake. The foods were good. However, I think they can serve much bolder and more extravagant foods. I was expecting something that I couldn't find anywhere in other Japanese restaurant.

The environment was great and relaxing. It was a busy Saturday night when we went there.
Overall it was a great experience. Hopefully they can serve something different next time when I come back.

Quite the experience with the set menu on offer. The place has a good selection of drinks as well to explore. Loved the dragon egg dessert and literally came back a second time for it.

Service was very good! Yes it was expensive to get almost anything but it's not like you get bad food, It worth every penny!!! I had the A5 beef, sweetbreads, testicles, and some other things. All of them are very delicious and mouth watering. I will highly recommend this place...

I saw a couple of negative reviews so was naturally had poor expectations - This was simply not the case after experiencing Sake.

The food was tasty and the service was great from Justin. The signature cocktails were nice too, with a special V'day twist.

Special food mentions:
- The brussel sprouts hot starter dish (suggested by Justin)
- Popcorn Shrimp
- Short rib
- Katsu bao buns (both fish and chicken)
- Harissa Kingfish

Improvements:
- Tempura veggies were a little bland
- Also state if you're going to charge people for 'Still water', fortunately the food was good enough to dismiss this for us.

Sadly we were too full to try the desserts 😂👌

My husband and I had the Valentine's Day degustation set menu. It was $125 per person and was originally served with sparkling but I'm allergic to alcohol so we both ordered mocktails instead which were lovely.

The food was absolutely exquisite. The blue eye tiradito (first course), the miso glazed glacier 51 toothfish (fourth course), and the duck breast (fifth course) were especially noteworthy. It truly was such a wonderful culinary experience.

Because it was Valentine's Day and we wanted it to be special, we requested to be seated outside so we could share the view and our request was honoured. The service was attentive and obliging. The atmosphere was stunning - and being outside, it wasn't too loud or too cold. We could not fault a single aspect of the night, to be perfectly honest. It was the perfect dinner. We'll definitely be back and we couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.

It is pretty sad to see Sake on Flinders are closed, but glad this one is still open for business after COVID (stay strong!)

I always liked their food menu (either ala carte or degustation). Both are really good. It's suited for Friday drinks as well with a good variety of drinks options.

The bonus is the city night view which is stunning if you pick the window seat/outdoor.

I always love coming here. The food is incredible every time, the service is lovely, and the atmosphere is gorgeous with the lights dim and the view of the Yarra River and the city beyond. I especially loved how I got a little birthday cupcake and one of the wait staff sang happy birthday to me! Thank you 💕
