This place is really good. Hand made roti is awesome. And the curry is authentic! The prices are unbelievable.

Best Curries I've had in Melbourne, absolutely booming with flavour that is generally missing from indian restaurants! Can't recommend this place enough! Guy who runs the restaurant is a super nice guy who obviously cares about the customers. If you're on the lookout for superb food at unbelievable prices this is the place to go!

Such delicious food and friendly staff! They're always happy to accommodate if you want something very mild or very spicy. Great too that they offer delicious burgers and chips for anyone in the family not wanting curry. Next order for me is goat biriani, I hear it's awesome.

Found this fantastic restaurant and will definitely go back. The food was authentic made from base up as would be the case in South India. As an Irishman it was an added bonus that the owner chef spent 9 years working as a chef in some top class Dublin restaurants. He was very friendly and could not do enough for me. I will be telling my friends about this hidden gem. Hope this doesn't backfire on me and I am not waiting hours for my next order.

This business is amazing. The man who runs it went into work when they were closed to make an early dinner for me and my mates. The flavours are nothing like what I have eaten before. The Smokey, chargrilled eggplant was divine and all the dishes have such variety but all amazing quality. I cannot rate this place enough. Will definitely be arranging a dinner dine in soon!

I haven’t had authentic biryani like this in a long long time, certainly haven’t had it since I’ve been in Australia, so this really hit the spot. I love how enthusiastic the chef is and the spice was spot on!

Really tasty! There's not a lot of meat in the actual dishes but the flavour is the focus so it's not missed. The samosa was delicious as was the onion bahji. Friendly staff too. It's great for Coburg North to have some quality take away.

The Event 96 beautiful name. The owner Mr Yousuf is awesome person who care about his customers. You won't get disappointed with the food taste. He cater for my function the food was excellent. You won't get that dead cheap prices anywhere in Melbourne.

The most memorable meal of the weekend. Every person that entered the restaurant was greeted with a pleasantsmile. That was merely the tip of the iceberg for their high quality service.

We ordered a Rumali rotis, chicken curry, gist curry and biryanis.
The meat was extremely fresh and they were generous with their taste, correct proportions of masala was used. The Rumaali roti was a standout, the presentation and the combination of spicy curry flavors of dry fruit mix in curries are a nice addition. A must try.

The inside of the restaurant had gorgeous wooden tables/booths and gave a modern feel to the restaurant. The option to takeaway is also available . The place is suitable for both families and for friends meetings.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some South Indian classics and some fusions, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Authentic, amazing food!!! Don't judge a book by its cover. This place has best RUMALI ROTI and delicious Mirchi Bajji you will never find anywhere in Melbourne. Try it and you'll be hooked! Apart from food the owner is very friendly and interactive. The prices are also very reasonable.

Such good food! Generous serves and really great price. SO much flavour and if you take the spicey option it's actually hot. Highly recommend!! The chef is lovely too, great customer service.

Fantastic little restaurant! Great food made to perfection. It’s a fantastic environment and fantastic customer service very friendly. The food is cooked from the heart and the flavours are a wonderful combination. It’s a must go to restaurant and the prices are very cheap especially for what you get which is definitely a bonus. From an Indian guy who’s spent a long time of his life in both India & Dubai and has had the opportunity to taste some of the finest Hyderabadi cuisine, I must say that The Event96 is as authentic as you can get when it comes to the world of delicious Hyderabadi food! Have tried multiple dishes over several occasions, not once have they failed to deliver. Biryanis, Goat Kadai, Shami Kebabs etc are just few of the outstanding dishes among a vast choice of dishes available in the menu. Very friendly and accommodating owner as well. Your lunch or dinner decision here cannot go wrong, highly recommended!

I had a delicious goat biryani. I tried many Indian restaurants in Melbourne, I can confidently say THIS IS THE BEST biryani I ever had, If you want a tasty and delicious food, just give a try, you won't disappoint for sure.

Absolutely loved the authentic Indian food from this place. Food was really fresh and yum. Very generous serves and authentic taste. The chicken biryaani was so good. Definitely my new fav joint. Will order more.

The best Indian food I have had in years. The owner was so friendly; he cooked everything on his own and couldn’t have been more accommodating when we asked for extra naan (fantastic btw). And the prices are the cheapest I’ve seen in a decade. Check it out!!

We had the hyperabadi 96, butter chicken, lamb korma, lamb hariyali, and hyperbadi dal and of course rice and naan. Between four of us we were stuffed full. All of the dishes had amazing flavors. The hyperabadi 96 was small pieces of chicken breast with spicy smokey thick paste coating them. Delicious, pretty spicy. The butter chicken had a beautiful nutty base, it wasn't the generic tomato cream sauce. It was really yummy. The lamb korma also had a yummy nutty base, and was really rich in flavour. The lamb hariyali had a beautiful smokey flavour in the sauce. We were told it can be made to a spice level of what we want. We asked for hot. It was really yummy. The dal was medium spice and was very nice. It was a watery style dal, not a creamy one. This is exactly the type of dal you want if you have a cold. We very much enjoyed all the dishes and will be back again.

Not a fashionable area but the Hyderabadi style dishes are a great find. Yousuf is a legend. Absolutely bargain prices for authentic dishes cooked from scratch. Not your average aussie-Indian fare. Get your google going to get an idea of what you're ordering. We four had vege kadai, mirchi ka salan, kadi pakoda, 2 masala dosa, breads, rice and drinks for $47 and took home enough for 2 or 3 lunches tomorrow!

If you're in a group I'd recommend you think about ordering ahead to give him time to prepare so you're not waiting if there are a bunch of walk ins.

Love this place, great ambience. Mr. Yosuf (owner/head chef), such a nice person, very friendly and excellent customer service. Best place for chicken curries, rumali roti and biryanis as well. A unique taste and experience for me and my friends too.
