Herringbone Restaurant

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Colourful delicious food, served with a smile. We started with the small dishes, bread, homemade chips and dips and the scallops. Our two mains, barramundi beautifully cooked, moist full of flavour and nocchi with olives, soft pillows flavoured by the olives were delicious. I couldn't forego the chips as well and they were delightful. My favourite was the sauce from the barramundi. Restaurant is really welcoming and fresh. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. You know when Ken (from Barbie movie) has to go back into his house and yells out "SUBLIME!" Before coming back and acting all cool. That was me on every one of these dishes. I ran out of compliments for those thangs.

This is my second visit, and it was amazing as the first. Fantastic service, fantastic food, cozy atmosphere.

I recommend:
Home made bread;
Capocolla with peppers and mozzarella;
Baked shark bay scallop;
Gnocchi Alla putanesca;
Fleurieu lamb shoulder (Bee's knees); and
Brule lemon tart.

Selection of wines was lovely and some nice/interesting non-alcoholic drinks are also available!

My only gripe was that the waitress was like, that's a lot of food! Please, you don't know me like that, I will literally order every thing. However this comment did dissuade me from ordering another side to go with the mains, regretsssss.

And one last comment on the tart. It will change your life. I ascended. Delish! Hahah!

The food was excellent. We were recommended exactly the right amount of food. Everything came out quickly. Food looked and tasted great.

Everything was amazing, including the service! The waitress/receptionist was such a nice lady! Incredible flavors! Top-notch ingredients with such creativity. Those scallops were truly unforgettable.

Really loved this place, everything was great. Staff were positive relaxed and knowledgeable. Food, unbelievable. Had the scallop, very tasty, light smoky paprika flavours with the butter went really well, had to lick the shell clean after. The torched prawn and watermelon combo was so delicate and fresh, finished off with the pan fried gnocchi dish, probably the best gnocchi I've had. The favourite dish was the scallop. Will be back to have the chicken next time with desert, skipped desert as we were satisfied (full). Thanks Herringbone!

Had an awesome birthday dinner at this top notch restaurant. Scott our waiter was awesome, very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He explained the dishes and helped us put together a nice choice to share. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and flavoursome. All the ingredients blended together superbly. And the home made bread was so moorish...yum. Definitely an enjoyable culinary experience. Love to come back again.

Outstanding dishes featuring creative flavour combinations and quality ingredients. The dinner menu is extremely well priced for how much food you get. As a Melbournian, I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip to Adelaide.

Fabulous food and excellent service. Interesting, delicious food and a happy place. We’ve eaten at Herringbone several times over the last few months and it is consistently up there. Michael is a professional waiter of the best kind who knows the menu well.

Absolutely fabulous, can’t wait to come back again. Each dish was a complete flavour and texture experience. Very high quality food. Lovely service. We were a group of five adults and had a shared, melt in the mouth, experience of starters and mains for dinner. Everybody raved about the food and delighted in the atmosphere, from the music to the interior design.

We have enjoyed our dining experience in this place. Great service from awesome staffs and amazing atmosphere. The food were really delicious... they're a bit rich but really has great flavour 🤤. Super satisfied! Surely will be coming back here.

We came for lunch on a winter's day.
The service was discreet but warm and attentive.
Our meal was the best we recall having anywhere.
The dishes feature seasonal, local produce. Entrées were delicious and the perfect size to share.
Our roast chicken w/- brussel sprouts was fabulous and a very generous portion.
We never eat desserts when we dine out, but our resolve buckled at the lemon brulée tart and fennel seed ice cream. Amazingly good.

Dined at this great restaurant for my 65th birthday celebration on 20 April, after noting the excellent reviews. It certainly lived up to the high standards of its reputation, with superb service and a very tasty menu. All meals are generally designed to share. The hummus and the chicken liver parfait were my favourites, both small plates but suitable for two. We ordered all three mains, which ended up too much food for 5 people. Gnocchi was the best, but all great. Hint - Unless you are a very big eater, order individual serves rather than the full menu option, with a maximum 1 small plate and one main per couple. It will be plenty, they are very generous servings. Best to go with a party of four or more, because you then can enjoy multiple dishes.

Been wanting to dine at this place for ages and I finally did! And it didn't fail to disappoint. Amazing food, staff and ambience. Our favourite was definitely the Pumpkin hummus, an unexpected yet delicious twist to the original version. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful food and amazing genuine service. The restaurant feels really homely and transports you into a space of absolute comfort! Must try!

We dined Wednesday evening for dinner here and was very impressed. Service was exceptional with the waitress talking us through the menu and pairing a lovely wine to go with the choices we had made. Seating was in a semi outdoor area with a tree growing in the middle of the room which was quite unique. The freshly baked focaccia was delicious a long with the other small plates we ordered. The scallops are a must! Great modern food in a great modern setting.
