We really enjoyed our visit which included a lovely morning tea with freshly made scones.
The displays are lovingly set out, including the amazing button collection.
Normally I feel at these places I'm seeing similar things to other places - but saw many new and interesting items.
Congrats to all involved.
The gift shop had some lovely hand crafted items too (and I can highly recommend the jam!)

This is a credit to the volunteers who have created a treasure trove of examples of domestic and community life of bygone days. The quilt room is exceptional and the Button Hut. Amazing 👏 Please support the craft shop, this is a community to encourage 🙏

A free museum only 7km out of Tumbarumba. Run by volunteers so please donate in one of the boxes in each exhibit.
There is a few different buildings with lots of interesting things from a bygone era with an emphasis on the ingenius ways people made do. Sewing, mending, fixing things rather throwing them out. There is a unique botton collection and a craft shop. Well worth a look.

Plenty to see and reminisce about for someone pushing 70. Well laid out good information on displays. The cat so had many items to tempt me and I spent up big! Friendly helpful volunteers.

Fascinating glimpse into the domestic lives of pioneering women. The ‘Waste not, want not’ mentality is demonstrated through their ingenuity and skill with nearly everything reused and repurposed. The craftsmanship is also incredible.

Excellent place to see old things some over 100 yrs old when people didn't throw things away glad they are on display they struggled but survived by recycling everything.
