Mercure Newcastle Airport

I was grateful to stay at the Mercure after my flight was cancelled last minute and the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room service was 10 out of 10. I had a good night's sleep and enjoyed a fast check out experience and short walk to the airport to catch my morning flight.

Two night stay for business. Ate dinner in the restaurant both nights - food was outstanding! Certainly the best food I have ever had at a Mercure restaurant. Despite being very close to the airport, there was no sound at all so the triple glazing in the rooms certainly worked.

Alex was so accommodating for us, especially with our 8month baby!

The hotel is located not to far from Nelson Bay, and priced reasonable considering it being a festival period (please don't up the cost like other places)!

Highly recommend this hotel when staying up north especially near Nelson Bay!

Room was nice and comfy. Would have liked softer pillow but only a minor thing. Food in restaurant was great and staff very friendly. Enjoyed my brief stay

We unfortunately missed a flight so were looking for a last minute booking for 7 people. These guys fitted us in and were super accommodating. Rooms were clean and spacious. Everyone we dealt with were very friendly.

Rachel in the restaurant was AMAZING. She was so friendly and patient with kids. She was in the restaurant by herself, but met everyone’s needs and exceeded our expectations. The kids voted her “best waitress ever!”. I totally agree. Thank you Rachel.

We had a brilliant experience here last night. Possibly the best airport hotel experience I’ve had in Australia. Any interaction with a staff member of any kind was positive. Rooms were great, beds were comfortable, restaurant had excellent food and was well presented. Even a nice view of the airport!

My son and I had to stay at the Mercury due to flight cancellation and early flight next morning. It was easy to book and we arrived a little early and checked in very easily. Our room was a twin and soundproof which was great. The bathroom was very clean and quite large. The beds were comfy. We had room service and the meals were huge and delicious. We checked out easily and the concierge called us a taxi which took all of two minutes to get to the airport but we had luggage so it was a good idea! I think the one thing that stands out though for me is the after service I received. I left a very much loved bracelet in the room and when I contacted the hotel they said cleaning had found it and they would return it to me. I just received it today. The honesty and helpfulness from the hotel staff really makes a big difference and I highly recommend this hotel especially the customer service side of things. 5 stars Mecure Newcastle :)

Clean Staff friendly, Had dinner whic was very nice.

Good place to stay close to the airport. Great if you are working in the vicinity. Book early as its popular! They need to refresh their menu though as it's a bit limited. Notes - there is nothing else really around the area so you do need a car if you want to do anything

What a convenient location to the airport but also very close to Newcastle. The food is fabulous and service very courteous. Disability accessible to highest standard, our bathroom very safe and spacious. Very clean. I am delighted and will use this hotel in future when needed to come down from Coffs.

My sister and I stayed for a weekend recently while attending a family anniversary in Nelsons Bay. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional and efficient. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The food was AMAZING and not what I would normally expect. Harley the Chef prepared the best dinner I have had in a very long time and Tree the waitress won our hearts the minute we sat down when she offered us a cushion for our backs. The night just got better from there on. Thank you Mercure for making a lovely weekend even more special for my sister and I.

Far exceeds most airport hotels. Room was well laid out, linen and bed comfortable, bathroom clean and well designed with good water pressure and heat.
Of particular note was the food. Both at the restaurant and room service the menu was succinct but well executed. All portions were generous and exceptionally tasty, particularly amazing desserts. Well done Chef and team.

Excellent decision to stay in this hotel. It is close to the airport, at a walking distance making it convenient to travelers. Rooms are clean, modern and spacious. Staff is friendly providing premium service.

The bathrooms are clean, spacious and the shower is comfortable.

The view from the rooms is not great.

You can access a $20 breakfast voucher. The breakfast is very generous with different options including eggs, beans, sausages, bacon and potato gems. There were also pastries, bread, fruit and pancakes.

Overall I recommend this hotel.

Spent a night here recently for a function close by and was very surprised. The staff were friendly and very helpful, room was very clean. Would definitely recommend if you need somewhere to stay in the area.

Excellent!! Staff, restaurant had beautiful food. They don't run the shuttle to the airport for guests any more.
