Mount Nangar lookout

The National Park is full of wild life, You can see the benefits of the restrictions. As we drove in in the last hour of sunlight we saw many kangaroos wallabies and two huge eagles. It's good that no domestic pet's are allowed, All through humans do the greatest damage. Definitely worth going to the lookout for sunrise or sunset.

Absolutely stunning location, plenty of wildlife and wild flowers, with spectacular views of the surrounding region. The hiking trails are moderate to difficult and I highly recommend not attempting any alone. Make sure to bring plenty of water and the appropriate footwear. The roads leading into this location are more suitable for 4x4 and not 2 wheel drive vehicles.

It's a long drive in, but it's worth the drive to the lookout. We drive out Hyundai Kona in, being careful of the lower ground clearance and the 4x4 was useful getting up the loose road surface of a few of the quite steep grades.

Definitely worth the trip if your looking for a day trip.

The views are spectacular, particularly on a clear day, you can see so far into the distance. Be aware that the Firetrail leading here can be closed so check the National Park website first, as the road for the walk was a different route to driving directly up to the lookout. The area has some picnic tables and has plenty of shade.

Beautiful bushland with amazing view back to Mt Canobolas in the east.

4WD track to top is fun. Track in good nick. Doable in a soft road 4WD if dry and you know what you are doing, I reckon.

Great place to visit. View from the top is fantastic. You look across a horseshoe shaped valley to Orange's
Mt Canobolas. Lookout has a couple of sturdy picnic tables. Access is best with a AWD or 4WD vehicle. Nothing rough as such but need ground clearance for some sections.
A few shallow water crossings but all easy. The National Park also has a well appointed camp ground. Allow an hour from entry of the park to reach the top. Well worth the trip!

Beautiful place, worth a visit

Nice drive up the hill and through the bush to the lookout. Fantastic outlook over the vast valley floor. You may choose the 5hr return walk from the campgrounds, but we drove up. Worth a look.

Beautiful views for the Mount Nangar lookout. Road to lookout needs a high clearance vehicle.

Beautiful views. Also we saw a raptor soaring in the winds.
