Idalia National Park

Fantastic camping spot and great birding.

Nice park, but beware there is only ONE official entry point into this park which is on the eastern side. Google maps shows several others but these are unofficial entries which may take you through private roads, property or unmarked tracks. Follow only official maps from QPWS. I foolishly followed gmaps which ended up being a much longer route than planned and led me to a seldom-used section of the park which may even have been private property. Not many people out here and I didn't see anyone else the entire time I was here, so if anything goes wrong you're on your own.

Great area to view the natural geology and flora.

Amazing place, no one at all out here. Drove for an hour into the park and didn't see a soul! Unbelievable to be out here on my own experiencing nature. Not many big attractions to see but really cool none the less. Saw 2 Goannas, plenty of kangaroos and be careful of the spiders walking as in the trees you have to go around as the web's are everywhere and full of spiders! So it was adventurous!

Came along on a family road trip down her. Had a blast since it was family board game night. Sadly our wonderful night was ruined when some tall black figure around 7ft tall with white beads as eyes came to our camp sight and ripped of all our limbs and ripped our torso in half. Luckily it wasn't all bad since we also had cheese pizza. That cheese pull was crazy!

4wd only! Some websites are misleading. And google maps can give you directions down roads that don't exist. Take plenty of food and water. Use the parks website for directions and info.
