Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon to tick off my list of eating food served on a banana leaf. What a busy place, had to stand in the queue for about half an hour, but it’s so well managed. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Even though they serve about 400-600 people every Saturday from 11am to 3pm, the staff had a smile on their faces. The taste of the food was doubled with extremely beautiful music played by the DJ. Highly recommend this place if you want to try curries from Malaysia.

Finally made our way to the Roti Bar on a Thursday afternoon around 1pm! There was still a huge line outside, but it moved fairly quickly. We were able to get in with a pram within 10 minutes!

It felt like we were in Malaysia mamak restaurants!

We ordered:
* Nasi lemak lamb curry (coconut rice, anchovies, peanut, cucumber, boiled egg and lamb curry, very flavourful with many pieces of lamb)
* Chicken murtabak (stuffed Roti with chicken + onion + egg. Serve with curry, lentil and onion pickles, delicious but my husband thought it was average)
* Chicken satay (loved it!)
* Chicken 65 (chicken popcorn marinated with 65 spices)
* Plain roti which was super fluffy!
* Teh Tarik: Malaysian Milk Tea (but my husband reckons ones in Singapore were better)

Definitely looking forward to our next visit and try other things!

One of the best Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne! Everything here is yummy! We usually come here for the banana leaf on Saturdays which is highly recommended. (Although there might be a queue) On normal days, the standard dishes are also 💯! Staff are super friendly too!

First time visiting Roti Bar. A bit of a queue but it’s obvious why. The food was so good. The service was great and the host lady took the time to stop and thank us for coming even though they were so busy. It shows that customer service is high on their priority list. It was really nice to see as you don’t get that very often.

Roti bar is a must when you're in the city and craving some comfort food. The food is always consistently excellent. I can highly recommend the mutton curry and the Char Kway Teow. But I normally can't stop myself from ordering the curry puffs despite myself. They are the perfect accompaniment to pretty much anything else you choose on the menu. Whatever you end up ordering it always arrives quickly to the table. Never change, Roti bar. 👍

6x prices of mamak food in the malaysia motherland, 6365km away. But arguably the same multiplier applies for the increase in food quality. The don't skimp on spices and serve proper sized portions. Curry is thick, stay is chunky and roti is freshly made to order.

I would just wish they wind the music down and select less energetic tunes.

Nice place to enjoy Asian food flavour. Very quick service. Food is authentic flavours and I will visit again. Price is not expensive, place is getting crowded quickly. Only downside is you will walk out with the food smell on your cloths.

Food was excellent - I really enjoyed my Singapore noodles here. Staff were friendly and accommodating to my family. In fact, they went one step further which was actually mind bubs whilst my partner ate (again - this is not the normal - his is going above and beyond - to which I say "thank you").

It was an unplanned visit - but glad I visited here. I know I'll visit again when I'm down in Melbourne again. (Again - the Singapore noodle dish I had was amazing).

Thank you to the chef for the food. Thank you to the staff and establishment for being that next level nice. ✨✨

Great food and excellent service! This restaurant is really popular and doesn’t take bookings, so be prepared to line up. We arrived when it opened at 11am and still had to line up for about 20-30minutes before we got a table. We went there on a Saturday and got the banana leaf plate special, which was amazing! The restaurant was a bit loud inside but otherwise the atmosphere was great. Definitely would eat here again. The serving sizes were very generous.

We wanted to try this much hyped place and came to find there was a queue to get in and almost backed out but we're so glad we didn't.
This is One of the best Malaysian eatery in Melbourne. Food on banana leaf has a taste of its own. These blended spices touch every taste buds one could have. If I could borrow a stomach, I'd eat more 😋
Will definitely come back when in Melbourne.

Real Malaysian food in a fun, friendly atmosphere right in the city! The sambal served with roti is very authentic. Efficient service too, even when they’re super busy. Will be back to try other dishes.

Banana leaf rice only available on Saturday 11am-3pm. We went there at 12pm and the line was crazy long but it was worth it. Service was top notch even with crowdl of customers the food arrive so quickly. I’ve finally found the chicken satay that i was looking for, tender and juicy, peanut sauce 10/10

As the wife of a Chinese/ Malay man, I was extremely impressed with Roti Bar!

We both had a Teh Tarik each to drink which hit the spot.

We then had the Roti Canai, the Chicken Laksa and the Nasi Kandar (Kambing). The serving size were generous, the presentation was fantastic and the taste even better!

We will absolutely be back, thank you Roti Bar for your traditional Malay food 🙏

We ordered Beef Rendang with coconut rice, chicken 65, Satay chicken, Roti with peanut sauce & curry chicken. The food was very delicious and tasty. The staff were friendly and hospitable. I'd suggest booking a table in advance if you're catching up with friends here. Highly recommended, will definitely come back again

No need to wait at 6:30 on a weekday night. Need to use QR code on the desk to order. Efficient and friendly service. Really like the chicken satay. The mutton roti was nice. Other dishes not bad as well. Reasonable priced overall.

When those roti cravings hit, head straight to Roti Bar. Their roti canais are the real deal - super soft and flaky with that perfectly stretchy texture. Dip it in their righteous curries and dhals, and you'll be transported right back to those late night street eats from a mamak in Malaysia. Portions are plenty generous so come hungry! Expect a line though, it is constantly buzzing with diners. But the wait is so worth it for that roti satisfaction. They do sell other Malaysian dishes and they are yummm!

Best in town, hands down!!
