The River

Had dinner here with my daughter. Very intimate feel - I can imagine the open fireplace would only add to this atmosphere in the cooler months. Staff were very friendly and professional. Service was very fast and meals were delicious. Bonus points as my medium rare steak was cooked to perfection. We shared a starter (pictured) and had a main each. We were both very happy with our meals. Couldn't finish all of our mains but that is no reflection on the quality - more I think our eyes were bigger than our bellies as there was so much range offered on what I would consider a small menu. (Small menus are great as the food stock is usually always fresh). This along with the local supplies available to them made for a quality dining experience. Would definitely eat here again. There's more dishes I would like to try.

I first went to the The River hotel with 3 chaps after Margaret River Soupie Kitchen service and all we did was have a beer.
This trip we have eaten twice at the The River.

Menu was a treat, lots of interesting dishes and variety to match vegetarian eaters.
I would like to compliment the kitchen staff for their quality and meal presentation.

Local watering hole with great band room and bistro. Great pub feel. Meals are good but not amazing, atmosphere is always nice.

We ate at the pub and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The masala lamb ribs and the caramelised brussel sprouts were amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation and a tasty meal (and drink 😉).

Dinner and dessert here was amazing! Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

We enjoy the portion sizes as they are a really good deal for the prices.

Went to the bistro for lunch and the meals were amazing.
Lamb cutlets were $34 & had 6 cutlets included! Huge and perfectly cooked.
The bar has so many flavoured spirits for all tastes.
The beer garden is clean and a great spot wen the sun is out.
Highly recommended

Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) was stunning to look at, and even better to eat. I haven't had something that tasty in a long time! 🤤

Large venue with a great selection of wines by the glass. Specials were interesting and standard menu had plenty for everyone. We had the lamb cutlets and lamb rib. Both were very tender with flavour. Drink and food order queues resulted in some people pushing in after ordering food which should be improved. Great experience.

Beautiful area - best place to stay and have fun

We were absolutely amazed at the flavours packed into the starters we had. The Fritters and brussel sprouts were next level! Great choices of beer. Can't go wrong here. 10/10.

Gorgeous pub and lovely location. Great variety of drinks and what was coming out of the kitchen looked good.

Stayed overnight, on a trip with family. Had dinner and drinks downstairs with a great atmosphere.

The food was lovely, I had the okonomoyaki and was impressed, by the portion size, quality of flavour, and amount of octopus in it. The others enjoyed their meals as well but I'm not going to list them all.

Time must be taken for the dessert brownie tho, is was amazing, a great peanut brittle, a decadent icecream, and the brownie itself balanced the other flavours.

Even the chips came with typical sauces and a nice new caramel sauce. Ignore reviews that say the food is bad.

The rooms were also lovely, clean, generously sized, bathroom contains a nice bath. I'm 6"3 so I rarely fit in typical baths. But hear me out, I fit in this one. Brb gonna sneak in one last bath

Absolutely a great place to go and enjoy a relaxed dining experience with a fabulous range of food. Great range of spirits and wine list- awesome vibe and great staff. A definite favourite.

Haven't been in a while but was very impressed. Good selection of beers and the food was excellent. Ribs were spectacular and there's a nice vibe out the front.

Great fish n chips, one of my favourites. Nice atmosphere and a fire indoors to sit and sip one of the local wines.
