Plan your trip around low tides, if you love nature don't drive 2 kill it . Therefore you should not drive 2 hours either side of the high tide , make this a law and save lives

One of my most favourite places in the world to go camping off grid . Total peace and restoration for the soul.

Love this place. Been camping here for nearly 50 years. Just left after a week 2 days ago.

Great place to chill out, people need to take there rubbish with them, bins are supplied up and down the beach it's not hard.

The permit to dive through the national Park and on to the beach is worth it. Due to the rain the track was quiet hard and didn't require any effort but you could clearly see where there were possible track issues in the dry. If you are a novice or inexperienced 4x4'er I would recommend traveling with another vehicle but if you are comfortable with your and your vehicle's abilities it's a fantastic drive. The trip back along the beach to the boat ramp at rainbow beach was perfect with beautiful scenery changes worth taking photos of.

It is really Cool - ola-laa!!! A perfect place to chill out, camp and relax on the beach. The access road is deep sand in the last section approaching the camp site so you cannot get there by anything else than a 4WD or a quad bike. Driving on the beach is also a popular activity over there.

Stayed in Zones 7&2.
Only negative was zone 2 was extremely crowded on the weekend, people practically camping ontop of eachother trying to fit into the allocated zone.
People driving erratically up and down the beach late at night, shining lights into people's camps and just being overall idiots.
Highly recommend making the drive around the beach to double Island Point.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Been there too many times and plan to be back plenty more. Best to avoid during school holidays and when schoolies are out and about but otherwise a great spot.

Fantastic experience and great place to 4WD. Beautiful beach with several camp sites and good barbecue area.
