Yoshi

Dinner box (chicken or veggies) is unforgettable and worth the price — big portion with well seasoned chicken. Wafu steak was soft and tasty. Each dinner box came with another bowl of veggies, so definitely a dish to share with family. The only thing we would recommend is the food saltiness to be controlled, as most dishes were salty. Aside from that, service was friendly and food was awesome!

We went as a group of three on a Thursday evening! Food was delicious, service was excellent and definitely worth the money :)

My name is Justin and I visit this place at least 3 times a week. And I always leave more and more impressed and satisfied. The head chef Yoshi is by far the most humble and friendly host I’ve ever been served by. His high passion for his dishes and craft is evident in every mouthful. He is always smiling and visibly delighted to welcome anyone into his restaurant.

His staff are a reflection of yoshi himself. One waitress in particular named Mai, is the most beautifully natured and respectful lady I’ve ever had the pleasure to be served by at any restaurant. She is always smiling, always says “thank you for waiting” (despite their lightning-fast service), and is just a complete delight to be served by. Always smiling, and so respectful.

I’d rate this place 10 stars out of 5 if I could.

I come here about once a week for my salmon tataki and dinner box (beef) and it never disappoints. Aside from the food being perfection, the staff themselves are the loveliest people and the restaurant has such a calm and comforting atmosphere <3

Amazing customer service from entry.
Menu is amazing not over the top expensive considering the area. The food is AMAZING and the sake was great too. Will definitely be back. Great little out of the main road restaurant the ladies are so lovely.

I recently had a fantastic meal at this Japanese restaurant! The teriyaki steak and wafu steak with rice were both amazing - perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The restaurant had a great ambiance, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine!

Best Japanese restaurant in South Yarra by far! The food never disappoints and the staff are super nice.

Their takeaway food is also great so would definitely recommend ordering while we're all in lockdown! My housemates and I ordered a ton of sushi from them for a lockdown birthday and the presentation was amazing and all of the sushi was to die for.
Would recommend this place to anyone.

Very warm welcoming cozy place. Fast and fresh. Japanese pancakes were yummy. Smaller potion than expected. Friendly and attentive service.

Really delicious Korean food. We got the lovers set and it felt like so much. The quality of the fried chicken wad really good.

Quality food, and good service. Fresh sashimi & sushi.

Very high quality sushi and other Japanese foods for a good price. The decor was a bit sparse, but you won't spend much time noticing. The okonomiyaki was especially good in my opinion, soft and with a great sweet sauce.

Absolutely beautiful food! Exceptional service, if we lived here it would be our regular, but sadly we don’t live here. Go.. you won’t be disappointed!!!! Loved all of it ❤❤

Yoshi is a local gavotte of mine. It is non pretentious , not expensive but always fantastic.
Jenny and staff are always helpful and friendly and the food always fresh and delicious .
Sushi and sushimi platter always a favourite.

I visited Yoshi for a birthday celebration last night and it was a wonderful experience. Friendly service, fresh sashimi, generous portions, reasonable prices and definitely the best Teriyaki sauce we both have ever had. The beef was tender, good quality and cooked perfectly too. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We left happy, full and satisfied. Can't wait to come back!

Excellent traditional Japanese. Potentially some of the best and freshest fish I've ever eaten in Melbourne. Shared bento box was a great choice with another dish to add for two people. Definitely will be back

Very nice service. The food is very good and very well made. The place is usually quite empty and it's only open for 2 and a half hours for lunch which usually means you arrive to eat and it's closed which is unfortunate. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The lunch sets are a great option.
