Oxfam Books

One of the best second hand book shops I have been to, and I have been to a lot. Well kept, well stocked and well organised. You half expect to pay a premium but on checking out you'll find that their great collection is well priced too! A great bookshop and a great cause!

Walked past this business in hutt St numerous times but didn't have the time to go in. When I did I wish I had more. No-one outside. Packed inside. This is where they all hide. Just knew it was a loved place. Friendly staff with an obvious love of books. Can't wait till next time and I'll take more money with me. Just love specialty shops like this one. Great and worth the visit repeating 🕊

We have been going to this place for more than a decade. Great selection of books and friendly staff/volunteers. If you can't find a book that you're after, do not hesitate to seek help at the front desk. You'll be surprised to get a call or a text message that they've found the book for you!🩷 It's a quiet and safe space💯, and a family-friendly place to visit. I think Google still shows the old location down on Hutt Street corner Pirie St. The new location is fantastic because it's just beside a cafe, Bocelli (Hutt corner Wakefied St), and outside the front is a bus stop (the free city bus also stops here😍). You may also find parking spots along Hutt St, or a private car park beside it (but a bit expensive if it's just a quick visit).

Requested a rare book a year and a half ago. Got a call yesterday saying they had it. I had since moved to Brisbane but as chance would have it I was working in Adelaide this week so went to pick it up. $3 for that level of service is anything but unparalleled!

Fantastic book shop, everything arranged just like a library. Except you can purchase at very reasonable prices. Huge selection, both fiction and nonfiction. Staff are great and knowledgeable. Very impressed!

Great selection and well priced second-hand books

The books are super cheap and the range is incredible. This is honestly the best place to search for textbooks, because there is seriously a book about everything. I don't think I have ever walked out of here without buying at least one item 😅 The "Curiosities and Collectibles" section always boasts the most interesting books (in my opinion), but every section is worth a browse. Do yourself a favour, just pop in and look!

Such an amazing place. It has a great variety of books and is so cheap. Great to spend a few hours picking books.

Very nice clean and well organized shop. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced books. Parking out the front is an added bonus. Definitely worth a look, you never know what hidden gem you might find.

I've been to Oxfam books twice. They have a pretty good collection of books. The staff is nice and super helpful when looking for what you want. They do have a facility to on-hold books for 14 days if you wish to buy it later, which it super helpful

Great range and service. I tend to go every 6 months to see what they have in stock due to the rotation of books. You never know what you shall find. Prices are good on these second hand books.

Such a lovely second hand bookstore. Reasonable prices, wonderful volunteers, and a MASSIVE selection of genres. The store is well laid out, clean, and easily accessible.

One of Adelaide's treasure houses of 2nd hand books. A strong representation of classic fiction and non-fiction, and a hunting field for students. I have picked up some otherwise hard-to-find marvels here, and for very good prices. All I need now is more room to store them.

A great little second-hand charity-supporting bookshop that also has a small selection of DVDs, CDs and foreign-language works. Everything is $5 or less and the selection is broad, although it's particularly good for textbooks. Stock changes frequently, so it's well worth a look anytime.
