The absolute best service and nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff are always friendly and the fruit and veg always fresh and full. So much to choose from for lunches. You can tell the owners put all their heart and soul into this supermarket. Well done !

Great deli selection,particularly the sweets on offer! I held everyone up at the checkout with online banking hassles and the staff were very nice about it. Store could be better laid out, bursting at the seams - possibly the reason they only have one trolly - that's all that fits in the shop.

Love my local little convenience IGA. I actually have another closer to home but this store is so much better.

Fruit and veg always full and fresh. Great array of home goods and dinner options plus friendly staff who hurry to open a second cashier as soon as there is a queue.

These guys are legends. I’m stuck at home with COVID and they delivered a bag of shopping to my door within an hour of my calling them. Excellent quality produce, awesome customer service. Highly recommend.

Amazing how much they fit into a relatively small store, you can pretty much get whatever you are after there, from fresh fruit and veg, packaged meats as well as a large gourmet deli counter. Prices are really good considering the city location and the convenience. Couple short term parking spots at the front door as well as all the parking on Hutt Street. Store is well managed and a credit to the owner. Very high standard set by this store. Shelves always fully stocked, good range of produce/products, very clean and well presented with very helpful staff all at reasonable prices. I can see why it has won awards, you couldn't really ask for more. A real little gem of a store in the Adelaide CBD.

My favourite little IGA in town. Staff, service and location is fantastic. Great spot to grab an affordable lunch to take back to the office if you work nearby. The freshly made on site wraps are in high demand and sell out quickly. Fully staffed at lunch time so you are not wasting your lunch break in queue. Large selection of healthy ready made meals to take back to work or home for dinner. Open from 7am until 10pm, I live and work locally so this really is a little gem of grocery/convienstore.

A small grocery store. Picked up a few items for a snack. Found a few things at really good prices. Have a good range of freshly made vegetarian foods/meal items.

Fantastic really that it open from 7 to 10. Fresh fruit and veg all year round. The deli section is diverse with the searchable bargain. And run by a friendly bunch who actually give a stuff:)

Open to 9pm EVERY day! Also has an assortment of grocery choice and a fresh food deli. Easy after city hours parking.

City East IGA is a fantastic little supermarket in an excellent location near the corner of Angas and Hutt Streets in the city. It has a good range of quality products throughout and is one of the best kept secrets in the city.

The store has a good range of fruit and veg and meat, including very good specials at times. It has an excellent cheese bar at the front of the store, stocked with locally produced gourmet, artisan fine cheeses. Fresh bread is delivered every day, including fabulous artisan breads at good prices - you can get them made into sandwiches in the deli, and request your own filling. The grocery section has everything you need - despite the small size of the store, they pack in a good range including continental products you won't find anywhere else. The dairy/freezer section has everything you would expect in a standard store plus a decent ready meals section including gluten free and vegan options (and fabulous markdowns in the food to go fridge).

The best part of the store, though, is the service deli. It has the best range of locally produced salads I have seen yet, all sold by weight - perfect if you are working to a budget. They will even do half-half of two or more salads and average the price if you want to try two different varieties for lunch. Behind the salad bar is a pie warmer, where you can purchase many varieties of Vili's pies plus the best kept secret - fantastic cheese and bacon rolls with a lot of cheese and bacon inside. City East also sells handmade wraps or rolls- they pack a lot into them at the best price I've seen in Adelaide and will make them to your diet or favourite filling on request.

The sliced meats are splendidly presented and always of the best quality as are the olives and antipasto selection. Make sure to try the sundried tomato - fabulous! Then there are delicious savoury options, including arancini balls and vegan patties -and they will heat them up for you on request. At the end of the counter is the cakes section. Locally made, they come in all different varieties, including old-school favourites like muffins (they will heat them up for you if you want the perfect treat for a winter's day); chocolate eclairs, kitchener buns etc.

They also make good tea, coffee or hot chocolate at affordable prices.

And all this is delivered with good old-fashioned service. At checkout you are served quickly and professionally, ensuring you make the most of your lunch break or shopping trip. Plus, they will carry your bags to your car if needed. Another bonus is that the store is open very good hours - from 7-10 every day of the year bar Christmas day (they are still open Christmas morning).

Overall, City East IGA is a fantastic store, delivering a great shopping experience you will want to return for again and again.
