Absolutely gorgeous place. The food was scrumptious but the best part is the lush surroundings. A haven so close to the city.

Absolutely stellar experience! The food was sumptuous, the service led by Freiya and her team was top-notch, and the ambiance and location were simply superb. A must-visit for anyone seeking a culinary and sensory delight!

When I visited como house, I came this caffeine too. I had a latte and scones. Their scones were so delicious! I would say best scones in Melbourne. Very nice and beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff.

I took my mother for High Tea for her birthday & we had a really perfect afternoon. The food, service & ambience was great. It was 37 degrees outside & lovely & cool & comfortable inside. We will definitely be going back!

Went for a family ride bike along the Yarra River and stopped here for a coffee. Beautiful place and nice outdoor area! We will come back for brunch next time!

Food: Decent variety and decent quality.
Service: Very quick and friendly service. Was a super hot day and they were very accommodating with the fans.
Locations: Easy to find, plenty of parking. Fantastic garden location, simply enhances your mood as soon as you walk in. Hard to have a bad day here on a sunny day.
Value: Was expecting a high price considering its location and postcode. But nope, quite decent.

Summary: Great for dates, afternoon tea, quick coffees, dates, family lunches, great place to spend a long lunch. Almost a perfect experience for us, and will return with friends. 5 stars.

Went on a busy Saturday afternoon and were warmly welcomed. We didn't have a booking but were able to be seated straight away which we appreciated. The staff member who served us was amazing - friendly, understanding, and always smiling. Whilst the food was definitely tasty and good serving sizes, it's nothing amazing.

One of my favourite hidden gems. Always loved the Stables - it’s a picturesque cafe with beautiful and delicious food. We indulged in their set menu option that came with scones, coffee, OJ and a selected brunch dish. Highly recommend the fritters or the pain Perdu if you have a sweet tooth. Pro tip: if there’s no seating, you can get a picnic basket and enjoy it in the grounds.

A hidden gem located in a busy suburb. Surrounded by the lush Como gardens and the herritage mansion. Lovely atmosphere, gorgeous outdoor & indoor setup. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault any. Great cafe to host even a party as they have plenty space available. You also can hire picnic rugs and do a picnic in the gardens. This is a kid friendly place. Have enough space outdoor to park the pram and move around. Highly reccomend The Stables.

This restaurant should be rated well above 4 stars. Had a lovely breakfast.

Note. If you don't like waiting cause you can't make a booking; or you get upset cause the staff dont smile at you cause they are busy; or you just like complaining in general then it's probably not the place for you.

Quiet cafe nestled within Como's grounds and greenery. Selection of brunch and lunch items, sandwiches and lots of cakes/muffins etc. The cafe has great outdoor seating for warmer/sunny days. Staff very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

I arrived late to join two friends who had ordered breakfast and I therefore just had a coffee. The food looked great and both of my friends mentioned how nice it was. Nothing wrong with the cappuccino either. Parking was good and the grounds are just awesome for a little walk as well.

Attentive staff, yummy food and a unique garden tea party vibe. We went on a cold and wet day but sitting outdoors was still pleasant and pretty. Covered and heated with clear drop down siding so the moisture doesn't get to you. On a sunny day I imagine this venue would be even more beautiful.

Quaint country-style cafe and a perfect way to end your visit to the Como house museum.

We came here for a warm beverage after visiting the wonderful Doll House exhibition. We were pleased to have a place to sit and reflect on the grand architecture and peculiar atmosphere of the Como house and gardens.

Inside the cafe there is a decadent selection of cakes, croissants and slices which are hard to resist.

I ordered an oat milk hot chocolate which was comforting and delicious and came in an antiquated mug and plate which I loved.

I would like to try the food next time I visit.

The Stables of Como is simple a delightful venue to the eye; conveniently located in South Yarra but magically isolated from Chapel st. buzz.

We came in on the very first cold day of autumn and we sat inside where it was toasty and warm. Welcomed by lovely staff we ordered our meals: Corn Fritters, Baked Eggs, The Stables Breakfast and Eggs with Avocado and Feta.

The food arrived promptly and everything tasted very nice but the highlight were the Baked Eggs, a very rustic, homie and warm dish that was perfect for such a nasty cold wet day. Almost perfect, aside from the prosciutto which it was too dry to be called prosciutto (I know my 'salumi'😂).

Overall here you will find a warm place filled with great food, all you need is some good company or a good book to enjoy with your coffee or meal.

Couldn’t fault the Stables today. Thought they were well deserved of a good review. The barramundi was cooked to perfection and waiters more attentive and friendly. Their Pinot Gris not bad. Overall good atmosphere.

Excellent service, great coffee and great food, food menu very diverse with vegetarian options. Get a coffee and have a nice walk in the garden, sit down and relax and read a book
