CIA Tax

Dr Steven Enticott and his team are beyond amazing if you are looking for team of professionals not only to do your tax returns but also support financial planning then look no further .

They charged me $950 to complete 2 personal TR (husband and wife) and yet I found a handful of mistakes which would have cost me a difference of $1500 in tax refund. I had to check my own TR to the nth degree to pick up their mistakes and all they said was 'sorry'. There were deductions they didn't put in although I had met with Peter to discuss and he agreed they were tax deductible but someone changed their mind due to their incompetency. Since I challenged them and provided reference to the ATO website stating the conditions to claim 'work related travels', they then agreed to amend it. Some of the mistakes were brainless too - typo of $3500 depreciation as $41, internet expense of $1200, entered in as $120. They do not quality check the TR prior sending it to their client for approval. I had to spend hours checking it all because Peter nor his team had bothered to check their own work. Common sense would make anyone question how can annual internet expense be $120? that's $10 per month for a residential ISP plan. And a brand new property to depreciate $41 over 12 months?

The quality of the TR was beyond ridiculous, it is an embarrassment for the so-called tax professionals at CIA. I don't have a tax background and for a non-SME like myself to pick up all those mistakes, I cant imagine how many more mistakes a qualified tax agent will pick up. I didn't walk into someone's garage to lodge my TR, I had to pay $950 for it and spend hours checking it. I raised my disappointment with CIA and asked if they really think the quality of their TR was worth charging me $950 and they replied back saying Yes as it took them 8hrs to prepare it!
Don't bother with CIA - with the quality of their work, you're better off walking into someone's garage to lodge your TR and pay half the price.
