We finally tried these beautiful vintage cakes sold by the slice every weekend by Mali Bakes 🥰

The 2 flavours we picked were incredible, and one of them was vegan too - they were light and fluffy, not too sweet and super flavourful 😋

Their shop is open in Thornbury only on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm 😉

What we ordered:
🍫 Chocolate chip cake, fresh milk soak filled with passion fruit curd, dark chocolate crumb & vanilla bean buttercream $12
🍓 Vanilla cake filled with roasted strawberry & pecan & maple buttercream (vegan) $12

Best cakes in Melbourne! Hands down!

Love the cakes at Mali Bakes. Fan favourite is the chocolate with raspberry which we have ordered twice now for birthdays.

Have had the single slices from the Fitzroy store and they are also so good! Especially the olive oil with blackberry.

Highly recommend.

We got a cake from Mali Bakes for our wedding and it was so so amazing! We went to both of their locations to try all the different flavours and it was so difficult to choose between them because we loved them all so much. Patti and all of the staff that we talked to were so helpful, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. It ended up more than perfect and was so tasty. We love the frogs so much!

We ordered our wedding cake from Mali Bakes and ABSOLUTELY loved it. Patti was responsive and easy to work with. She also made a stunner of a cake with the florals that fit perfectly with our aesthetic. Most of all, the cake was delicious and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! Our overseas guests have even requested that I order them a Mali Bakes’ cake next time they’re here!

We went through Mali Bakes for our wedding cake and we haven't stopped receiving compliments on how yummy it was and good it looked! Patti was so lovely to speak to while organising the cake, allowing us to use our own cake topper and delivering our cake to the venue to make everything care free! Highly recommend. Ps. Try the choc chip with passionfruit curd 😋

Simply the best! We were over the moon with our exquisite wedding cake from Mali Bakes. The entire process was seamless, the (beautiful) storefront meant we could freely sample any flavours we liked, and the final product was extraordinary. We ordered our wedding cake through Mali Bakes and absolutely loved it. Patti the owner is just lovely - great with communication and helping us do a tasting beforehand. Mali Bakes created our wedding cake, and it was absolutely incredible. The colour and decorations were perfect and Patti really took inspiration from other colours from the day. The cake flavours were so so delicious, I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Patti made our wedding cake and I am so glad we chose her. Her communication was fantastic and the process was so smooth. The cake was both stunning and delicious! This was no surprise as we have been visiting every Saturday to get a slice of cake every other week for the past few months. Can’t get enough!!

I am truly obsessed with Mail Bakes. We were lucky enough to have Patti and her team create the cake for our wedding and she absolutely nailed the brief in every way. The cake was gorgeous, delicious and exactly as we asked for. Patti’s communication was flawless, her response times quick and every email clear and on point. She was so flexible and understanding of us having our heart set on a particular flavour but requesting the pistachios be removed due to a guest with a nut allergy. She made it happen for us, when she so easily could have said to pick another flavour. Our cake was also delivered to the venue and that service was flawless as well. We picked up a slice of our wedding cake flavour (rhubarb and strawb - so good!) this Saturday morning and it just keeps getting better! Thank you so much Patti for making the process so easy!

This is the best cake I have ever eaten! We ordered the sour cream chocolate with raspberry compote and it was delicious. Not too sweet surprisingly and so delightful to look at. Thank you :)

Hired Mali to bake our wedding cake and she did not disappoint! Top notch service, creativity and flavours.

Unique taste cake with incredible design, I Ioved it! We ordered Brown sugar cake, strawberry & rhubarb jam, pistachio praline and buttercream. It was fantastic! I genuinely recommend this cake shop.

Patti, you are an absolute gem! We loved our gorgeous themed wedding cake - it was everything we wanted and more! The presentation and the piping was truly something else!!

Glad we bought the tasting box beforehand - so much fun trying the assortment of flavours, but made it sooooo hard to choose because they were all delicious! Thank you for your prompt communication, your updates and for guiding us through the design process. Highly recommend!

Mali Bakes made the most incredible and delicious cake for my wedding. It was decorated so beautifully and everyone was obsessed with it.
We did a tasting box beforehand and all the flavours were amazing, it was hard to choose. We went with the Yuzu and Poppy Seed which was such a huge hit, everyone loved it and we were so excited to get to have some leftovers for the days after. Patti was so professional and helpful every step of the way 10/10 would recommend.

A cake that tastes as good as it looks! Honestly blown away with the show-stopping outside and the carrot cake interior was perfect.
