The staff were incredibly helpful and patient with my needs. I was looking for a cable for my recording setup and I needed a lot of time trying to find the right one. The staff were there to help me the whole time and take me through the process of what I'd need for my specific situation without rushing me. Thank you guys, you really were great in helping me out!

Being a beginner at guitar, I approached my visit to Billy Hyde Ascot Vale with some apprehension. However, my fears were quickly dispelled upon stepping into the store. Unlike the intimidating environment I had imagined, the staff here made me feel entirely at ease. Upon entering, I was greeted and offered assistance, but was also given the space to explore on my own terms without feeling pressured. This was particularly important to me as someone who's still learning the ropes of playing guitar; I appreciated being able to handle instruments without feeling judged. When I did have inquiries, Ash was incredibly patient and took the time to understand my musical preferences and budget constraints. He explained the differences between various instruments in simple terms, allowing me to make informed decisions without any pressure.

While I didn't make a purchase today, I'm certain I'll return to this store when the time comes. Their wide selection of instruments and exceptional staff make for a refreshing change from the impersonal nature of online shopping. Highly recommended!

I went in to get my pick-up fixed and was done on the spot and finished well, even got sticker removed and hydrated my fretboard. Ethan was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. 10/10 will go again

Most of the reviews you read here will be for what was Macron Music. Billy Hyde moved into this location in November/December 2023.

The store layout is much the same, some of the staff have even carried over and your shopping experience will be great. Every one is friendly, helpful and because it's Billy Hyde the prices on stuff (at least from a drummers perspective) are pretty good.

Parking is also excellent. Certainly more accessible than the Nunawading store.

A well loved acoustic guitar of mine needed new strings. I had never attempted a string change, mainly out of fear, and none of the videos online cut it. I spoke to Ethan in store who not only helped find the right strings for my stubby fingers but offered a string change lesson. I took the guitar into the store and Ethan demonstrated the string changeover process and gave the guitar a thorough clean. His knowledge, expertise and passion was immense. He answered all my questions and never made me feel like a dunce. Walked out of there with a new skill and a guitar that felt brand new. Thanks legends.

The employees in this store are fantastic, friendly, and solution-oriented. Additionally, you can find many models from various brands in this shop. I’m not sure if I pronounced the name correctly, but I want to express my gratitude to the employee named BURNY for helping me.

Took my guitar in today to the Ascot Vale store for a warranty issue & Ethan, the guitar tech, sorted it all out so the guitar didn’t have to go back for warranty service. Great customer service.

Nice shop, well laid out and decent selection of gear. The fella who looked after me with my query on what I needed to split a VDrum trigger took time and dealt with my dumb questions kindly and got me where I needed to go

Incredible range of instruments, and constantly have deals which make saving an extra buck just that little bit easier. I've bought heaps from Billy Hyde, including the guitar I use daily, and haven't regretted a single purchase. The customer service there is also really great - everyone who works there is friendly, helpful, and can give really good advice to help you find exactly what you want

Thanks to the amazing team at Macron Music, SJC Drums and Vater for arranging and facilitating the signing day with Jay Weinberg!
Went expecting just to attend the signing with my husband, Scott Rammell and ended up joining him in the 1 on 1 with Jay!!
The whole team were awesome and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcomed and special!!
We will definitely continue to visit when we are in Melb and will be ordering everything for our music needs from Macron Music Melbourne!!

We came across the meet and greet due to me buying drum sticks through Macron Music for my son. He’s a mad drummer and Slipknot is one of our favourite bands. We were excited, as we were already traveling to Melbourne to go to the VIP Knotfest with my niece( as well as the Sydney, one where we reside). What a great opportunity you gave us all to meet Jay Weinberg. The excitement was beyond. To also be able to purchase a drum skin for Jay to sign was really great of Jay to go that extra mile. Thank you to all the staff at Macron Music as well as Jay Weinberg and his promoters for this opportunity. It was worth the 4 1/2 hr wait.
