Carters Road Picnic Area

Well maintained facilities. After all the rain, care was taken to create waterways and straw was put down on walk ways.
Drinking water provided at the entrance!!

No need to bring plastic bottles. Or refill and boil water from stream.

Drop toilets are well cared for too. Excellent for a free campsite.

An absolutely beautiful spot to walk or just sit and contemplate life. Running water and trees - what else do you need?

There are good picnic tables and bbq/fire pits in the day visitor area for picnics.

Everything is well-maintained and there is no rubbish.

There are no bins so please be sure to take your rubbish home.

Great place for a wade in the river or a place for a picnic, or both!

A beautiful area for a picnic and to spen a whole day. A plenty of paking apace, BBQ, tables and benches, toilets and camping area available. The river with clear and cold water is ideal for a hot summer day. If you are adventurous you have the option of climbing up to the beatuful waterfall of which return trip is 7KMs - but never attempt on a hot summar day unless very early.

Not the easiest walk but we'll worth it.

Great place to camp, we hired an off road caravan and drove in here quiet easily. We had a fire place and plenty of room for the kids to play and run around. It was off road enough to enjoy price and quiet and whilst driving in we saw plenty of wildlife and stopped to take photos.

Totally beautiful place. Possible 1 of the best picnic area's we've ever seen. The grounds r amazingly well kept. Lot's of space, lot's of tables, lot's of room to run around. There is a child's play ground. Toilets, bins. River is clear & clean & truly beautiful. If your in the area & looking for a lunch break you will b hard pushed to find something better.

Great picnic area. Small fireplace for cooking on days that aren’t total fireban. Right beside the Delatite river. Beautiful spot. 2wd drive access and plenty of space for the kids to run around. Grass banks all the way to the water. Crystal clear water.

The beautiful Deletite River flows through this campsite. Above is the start of the epic trail bike/walking track. Just over the hill a ways is the Plain creek track. If you're looking for a beaut peaceful space to camp or fish or have a bbq this is it. Dog friendly. Great spot to start an alpine adventure. Brown trout easy to catch in the shallow river or just blow up your tyer and float away. Well maintained. Toilets and bbq facilities available

Very nicely made picnic ground with a few picnic tables and lots of river front play areas. Also a very good place to start some beautiful walks.

Nice spot for family picnic on way to mount Buller. Sitting area provided by council next to river. Must stopover.
