I had really good time here with my sis for dinner. It was perfect choice to go here. Every dish was a delight, from the appetizers to the desserts. The presentation was also impeccable. Staff were so nice and good service. I will definitely be back 🫶🏻🫶🏻

This place far exceeds its review average rating. What an experience we had here, the service, the interior design and atmosphere, but most of all the food.

Every dish was amazing. Our favourite was the dry aged beef entree. By itself it may be tough to chew but we found if you dip each piece in a small bowl of fresh cut chilli in soy sauce, the result is magical. Addictive and delicious. After your done your mouth will be numb with an amazing taste.

The lobster and prawn dumplings were amazing. Fresh and soft - just like how a dumplings should be. With a thick glaze they melted in our mouths.

The bao fried buns were probably the weakest dish but still a great entree. I think the buns would be much better steamed.

The kung pao chicken was delicious. Tender chicken with an even and balanced sauce.

The beef with vegetable dish (forgotten the name) held its own too. Not a fault at all.

Overall I loved this place, spending just over $250 on all meals for 2 of us. I would happily pay it again. Amazing service too by the guy with the long hair serving us. Will be back.

Excellent place for special occasions. Beautiful ambience, tasty cocktails that are themed after Chinese zodiac signs and delicious food. The Dragon cocktail not only looked good but tasted great. We tried the prawn wantons, prawn and lobster dumplings, squid fry, kungpao chicken, spring onion pancakes and Hunan fried rice. Every dish was a winner. Will definitely visit again.

I had the pleasure of dining at Spice Temple with my family yesterday, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the ambiance captivated us, setting the stage for a memorable evening.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. The Kung Pao Chicken, a true highlight, showcased an enticing combination of Sichuan peppercorns, heaven-facing chilies, and cashews. Each bite was a flavorful adventure, with the tingling sensation of Sichuan peppercorns harmonizing perfectly with the heat of the chilies and the crunch of cashews.

The Crispy Eggplant with fish fragrant dressing added a unique and delectable twist, proving to be a culinary masterpiece.

The Steamed Market Fish, perfectly executed with the freshness of the fish complemented by the aromatic blend of ginger and shallots. For those who appreciate the ocean's bounty, this dish is a must-try.

While the Chicken and Prawn Dumplings, I found them to be average, primarily due to my personal preference for non-seafood options.

Also, The cabbage and Radish Pickles were my favourite.

As for dessert, the Coconut Tapioca and Mango Mousse was the perfect sweet note to end our spicy adventure.

In summary, Spice Temple surpassed our expectations on every level. The ambiance, service, and, most importantly, the culinary delights. We left with satisfied palates and grateful hearts, eager to return for another spicy and flavorful escapade.

The Ambiance was very nice and staffs were friendly, we went there without a booking and was accommodated by the staff professionally.
They also pack our leftover food for us and gladly took a picture when asked.

Food was amazing and portions were generous so I highly recommended not to follow the set meals and enjoy sharing a little bit of every dish with friends and family..

Believe it or not, the value for the quality is amazing for these delicious meals.

We booked easily online and chose the special EOFY banquet. At $99 a person you certainly get more that that in quality value.

On arrival we were professionally greeted and had our coats taken to the cloak room (free of charge). Led to our table we were rapidly offered drinks and a chance to review the menu in the case we wanted to change our selection from the online booking option.

The overall menu has a beautiful selection of Chinese cuisine from the regions of China. It may appear the prices are high but on seeing what they brought out on other tables you’re definitely in for a treat.

Their standard banquets are the golden and premium banquets which look to be a beautiful selection of the menu both slightly differing.

We opted to keep the EOFY banquet option and proceeded with our meals. See the picture for the banquet selection.

You honestly couldn’t fault the meals from start to end with each set complimentary to itself then flowing well into the next. Order of favourite if I had to rank was:

Wagyu beef (with the rice really makes it balanced and delicious)
White chicken
The fish (was just amazing)
The calamari with typhoon spice

Out of the vegetables ensure you try the lotus root, the pickled radish and the greens with garlic.

To complete all of the banquets they offer the mango mousse, a refreshing and tasty way to complete your meal and one of the most delicious and refreshing ways to complete a great flow in the banquet.

Overall an amazing experience in a relaxed and beautiful setting, perfect for a date, business meal or special occasion, all in the fringe of the casino precinct.

It has been a been here, done that place for me. I recall coming here with mum and my sis as a see you again long yum cha luncheon. Good old days when they only liked Chinese food..now of course..good food is all that counts. After that average yum cha, I was honestly reluctant to try again but what a fantastic meal.

It was a long 9 dishes banquet so might not be back every week but definitely back if I want Chinese long lunch again. We started with entree as bang bang chicken, steamed eggplant and prawn wontons. Mains were steamed fish, kung pao chicken and braised pork hock with sides as Chinese broccoli, pickled cucumbers and radish pickles. Yep, I love my dessert and mango pudding was a delightful way of finishing the meal.

Glad we walked 6km in and then back to enjoy this meal, burn it off and be ready for something else soon. Life of fitness and foodies eh 🥘

Absolutely loved this place. Service was incredible and was well looked after from the start (special thanks to Martin). Atmosphere and ambience was intimate, but still lively. Food did not hold back on flavours and the spice was definitely there in some dishes. Definitely order a cocktail based on your zodiac animal - dragon was delicious.

House fried rice
Lamb backstrap
Stir-fried eye fillet
Kingfish sashimi

Prices varied, but portions on the dishes were large and definitely for sharing.

The food was exquisite - no doubt about it. Usually, fine dining restaurants, you get very small serves, but the serving size here was great! Flavours were amazing for every dish, except the fried rice which was flavourless. Yellow Fin Tuna had an amazing base sauce and the lamb dumplings were sensational. Even the side dark chilli sauce was so good!

Some cocktails had so much ice, you couldn't even drink it, so had to ask to reduce ice.

Bit hard to get someone's attention sometimes, but the waiters indicated to each other when needed.

One thing I was most perplexed by was that we had a booking at 6pm, but they wouldn't even physically let us in before 6pm.

Music was great and quite "international." Loved it!

Also, no biggie, but I would expect fancier chopsticks! ;)

Wow! What an amazing experience and exquisite food. Highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered “The Premium Banquet” which is the perfect way to be introduced to this restaurant. Everything was delectable and truly delicious. Am pleased that I did not go by the previous reviews (I don’t usually care much about reviews….. you need to experience it yourself).

I came here first time with my girlfriends around Xmas probably 4 years ago. I remember that this restaurant serves delicious food and I always want to come back here again.

This restaurant didn't disappoint me. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staffs are great from the moment I walked into the restaurant. The waiter is very friendly and provided us with great customer service. All of the dishes that we ordered are great. However, there are two dishes really stand out. The deep fried eggplant and the mango pudding.

If this is your first visit, note that the dishes printed in red indicate that those dishes are spicy. They have a slight kick to it, but won't be too spicy anyway.

Highly recommended if you are after great food with great service.

Great overall experience at Spice Temple in January 2022. This was the 4th time my partner and I have been and it was the best experience we have had so far. Fantastic food and great service. It was my birthday and we unexpectedly received a complimentary piece of cake and a drink each! Really made us feel special. Will be back to Spice Temple again soon, hopefully!

What a wonderful dining experience. Lucky we booked in advance for our table. We selected the Golden Banquet with pairing wine. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb. They had given us enough time to enjoy and finish before the next one was served. Wine pairing was great. Staff service was far superior. It is bit pricey but overall the value for money. The only downside I feel is the interior. It does not have that class to match the food or service. Most of the dishes are spicy so be aware of it before booking.

This place never disappoints. Always a good place to celebrate, the food is really well prepared. All the courses were appealing, fragrant and aromatic. The balance of Sichuan peppers with heaven facing chillies is outstanding. The perfect amount of heat allowing you to relish the meal while leaving your palate wanting for more. Kung Pao Chicken with house fried rice is my go to dish.

We had an excellent family dining experience. The Waiting Staff greeted politely, helped with meal suggestions. All food preparations were of high standard & service was great. We were offered complimentary cake slices & cocktails due to a family event celebration, which was a pleasant surprise.

Our group of friends had a beautiful intimate farewell party at the Spice Temple. Food was absolutely amazing. We're particularly impressed with the Crystal Dumplings and the fried eggplants. Food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. definitely recommend and will come back for more.

I had been meaning to dine at Spice Temple for years, finally found the occasion to go and it was just wonderful. We ate from the Golden Banquet menu and every dish was a delight. Service was wonderfully prompt and un-intrusive. Great cocktail menu and view out to the Yarra, it was the ideal venue for a quality dinner before seeing a show at the Plenary.

Spice Temple is another sensational restaurant by the @huntersthospitality group. Not once has it disappointed me, bringing a total experience with aromatic and full flavoured food, a moody, intimate, well-designed space and first class service. The menu is Modern Chinese with a culinary focus on the lesser known regions, endeavouring to highlight the high quality of the produce and has been designed to share. Both of their banquet options are incredible value and in my opinion a must. Taking full advantage of the @cityofmelbourne Melbourne Money Rebate we treated ourselves to the Premium Banquet and couldn’t have been more impressed. Each of the 10 dishes came perfectly spaced out, were great in portion and taste. The black bean Wagyu beef was so incredibly tender and melted in your mouth. The spanner crab noodles, crispy char siu pork and the chocolate peanut parfait were also standouts. Needless to say, we did not leave hungry and we can’t wait to return.

I went to this restaurant some 4 years ago with my daughter. I came back with a friend. It is still outstanding and my friend from Brisbane loved it. Keep up the good work. I will be back early in 2024 with my husband so he too can share the experience, great food, good service and superb location.
