After the bad news about my ankle break was delivered, Will was thorough and thoughtful in outlining my options. He communicated clearly, took time to answer questions, and put you at ease. He has an excellent bedside manner. I was always reassured and confident about progress. The surgery and rehab went well. His approach is outstanding and I highly recommend him. His staff are also friendly and considerate.

I have been a patient of Will's since 2019, he has done multiple complex surgeries for me, including an Ankle Fusion and most recently a toe shortening. He is the best Orthopaedic Surgeon i have had in my adult life. Will is very upfront with you on the steps from surgery through rehab, you will know exactly what is involved, timeframes and the recovery process. Both Will and Paul Retcheko offer an end to end service and map out the rehabilitation journey and what is required post-operative, so you know step by step exactly what you need to do. The support is wonderful. If you or your children require foot or ankle surgery, i could not think of anyone i would trust more than Will. He is an expert in his field and a true gentlemen. For me, both Will and Paul have been nothing short of a life savers.

William is certainly eccentric but he and his team provide the very best service possible , offer straight forward advice , William and all his staff are extremely caring and l would recommend him as the best surgeon available , he has allowed me to walk normally again with next to no pain , brilliant surgeon .

I was referred to doctor edwards by my podiatrist, he was friendly and knowledgeable about bunions and explain so clearly of the post op care, before surgery he made sure appropriate test was done and OK from physician. I was pretty happy with the result and healing process and as explained before consent. Dr Edwards is very humble and never pushes you into something you not ready to do. I have no more pain and walking and working with affecting me. I just recently did foot reconstruction for second bunion and deformity and happy with result!
The staff at reception and his nurses are friendly and courteous. Thanks for always a good experience guys.

Excellent outcome after bunion surgery on both feet. Six weeks later and able to get out and walk at least 2km with my dogs (I did my rehab though and followed Dr's orders😀). I would recommend Will Edwards to anyone else considering bunion surgery. Also a very nice man.

Mr Will Edwards is a very experienced surgeon I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone requiring foot surgery. He is an expert in his field his bedside manner is excellent. If you require surgery a full explanation is given from preop to post operative care. Will is the best.

It has been 10 months since Doctor William Edwards fused all the mid foot joints on my right foot and corrected an alignment issue.

The operation was required to remove arthritis in the joints caused by an old basketball injury sustained 36 years ago. I have waited 10 months to write this review to ensure I could offer an accurate review.

I'm extremely happy with the result. So a big thank you to Doctor Edwards and his professional team. You have given me a new life, free of pain. And I can enjoy an active life as I transition into retirement.

Yes, it's a long recovery as Doctor Edwards explained prior to the operation. 12 to 18 months for a full recovery. I can say after 10 months I'm about 90% recovered. So I'm extremely confident of a 100% positive result. Having fused mid foot joints in no way affects my ability to walk and there is now no sign of a limp, like I had prior to the operation.

So I'm a very happy man.

Recent achilles repair. Dr Edwards is a great surgeon ... a combination of IQ & EQ that leads to a good patient experience. He is warm & friendly.....explains things really well....and he welcomes questions. He has also developed an wonderful team. The practice (the team & the building) has a nice ambience....like an inviting family.

I recently had extensive surgery on both feet and am very happy with the outcome. Will Edwards advised what to expect from my first meeting to the last - he was very clear about what to expect before and after surgery and what the long term outcome was going to be with spot on assessment of where I would be at each stage of the recovery. I am so happy with the outcome at the 8 week mark and progressing well each week. Having both feet done was the best decision, even though I was reluctant at first but took Will's sage advice. Will's team are great to deal with and so very helpful, they have great empathy from the client's point of view, provide you with all information and always available to help with additional questions which you will invariably have! There is a way to go to see and feel the final outcome but so far fantastic!! Thanks

If there was a rating higher than five stars I would put that. I have had to have four ankle surgeries with him and his care, attention to detail, thorough treatment and telling you exactly what should or not be done, is exceptional. He is flamboyant and one of a kind, yet he is a warm and caring doctor. I would never go anywhere else. Cannot recommend him or his team highly enough!

I am very grateful to have been referred to William Edwards for my ankle fracture. William was friendly and explained all aspects of the treatment plan for my bimalleolar ankle fracture surgery, instantly giving me confidence in his knowledge and expertise. In just over 3 months I am tracking well, regaining strength and stability and on the way to a full recovery. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis, I was so nervous about hammer toe surgery but every step of the way Mr Edwards' experienced hand made it an assured success.
Mr Edwards really helped me understand what was required with clear discussion of his strategy and ample information sheets.
I was amazed to experience little or no pain during the recuperation time.
Can't tell you how grateful I am to regain more stability in my gait.

Ten year’s after having extremely successful bunion and hammer toe correction on one foot I have just returned to the same doctor, Mr William Edwards of Richmond to conduct the correction of my second foot for a bunion straightening, two hammer toes straightening and finally the placement of a plate mid-foot to correct an arthritic section. I have every confidence in this doctor. He spends time describing the specifics of the planned surgery and ultimately the recovery process and timing. He doesn’t embellish the possible outcomes nor his abilities. His understanding of feet is exceptional.
EDIT: Six months on and I am so relieved to be walking almost normally again with my runners on. Still doing hydrotherapy three times a week which has been a huge advantage.
EDIT: Ten months on…feeling more and more normal. Taking 4 km walks. Great!

Ruptured my Achilles’ tendon about 3 months ago and had Dr William Edwards as my surgeon. He has been absolutely amazing since our first consultation and ensured I had the best care and recovery post surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr Edwards to anyone who requires it.

Having a bunion on my left foot for the last 7 years, I was recommended to Dr. William. I've tried many different options to help with the pain and insoles previously, after my first consultation Will explained to me the options and I knew the bunion wouldn't get better on its own, so I had my surgery 6 weeks ago from today, the surgery was around an hour, Will visited while in hospital to assess the pain and advice the nurses accordingly. Will is a very positive, upbeat surgeon and I felt supported and comfortable the entire time. I had my post-surgery appointment a week later, when my foot was unwrapped it was completely unrecognisable, I couldn't believe how much of a great job it was. I would highly recommend Will and his staff!

Its now a year since I had my second large 'bunion', (bursar) this time on the left foot, surgically removed by Mr Edwards at Epworth Richmond. Following normal post operative discomfort, which was quite moderate considering the complexity of this procedure, the outcome of both operations has been amazing. No more pain, back to normal sized shoes and the joy of comfortable walking. You will be struggling to find a more competent, courteous and "people person" orthopaedic surgeon than Will Edwards. AS far as I am concerned, he's at the 'top of the tree'
