I am in my final two months with Orygen as you only get two years with them. My case manager is the absolute best person they could have chosen for me. She is so supportive, non judgemental and always leaves me with a choice whether I want to do something or not. I feel heartbroken and I feel like I’m grieving over a loss of a relationship knowing in two months I have to say goodbye to her and I will never be able to talk to her or ask her for advice again it has broken my heart. I find this policy absurd, given the fact a lot of Orygen clients such as I have borderline personality disorder which causes us to have extremely strong bonds with people and we get very distressed and anxious about leaving people. This is really not fair, I can’t complain about orygen as they helped me more than any other service and actually broke through some barriers. I went from being clueless about MH, to know being super self aware of my MH, needs, expectations and what sets me off. I’m practically in remission from psychosis thanks to Orygen. The one thing I hate is this policy, two years is not enough, it took me one year to develop the trust and form a connection with my case manager, to the point at this point in time I am my true self around her not faking anything and she accepts me for who I am and doesn’t try to change me, but that took time, then essentially I had one year to deal with 7 mental diagnosis I have, 3 of them are life long disorders I will never be able to recover from. The rest are low chance of recovery.
To my case manager you know who you are, if you ever read this just know you were my saving grace who saved me from the lists of hell and you showed me true compassion and that I am worth more, no one will ever be able to replace you and I’ll never forget you, maybe one day orygen will take me back, my heart aches every day it’s too hard for me to handle. Thankyou R, you were the best ever. I will miss you dearly so will mocha

Dr Mark Phelan has been wonderful for my son and our family. Really takes the time and effort with supporting my son, as well as our family.

Friendly, dedicated and passionate staff. Artistic architecture and ample space and options for young people to engage and be active.

Staff friendly and very helpful. Facility is very clean abd tidy. Has a cafe inside too.
