The kimbap and the sausage and rice cake sticks were delicious. The honey butter garlic chicken was too sweet for me but it was still amazing. I would be keen to try the other chicken dishes.

Had a blast with my bestie the other night as we LIVE for Korean food❤‍🔥, especially coming back from travelling there a month ago, we’re lying when we said we totally don’t miss any of the street food there!!🥸

I’m so happy that I got to finally try this family-run authentic Korean restaurant located in CBD, here’s what we’ve got!

📎Rosé Tteok-bokki (with egg, sausage, ramyeon)🥘
📎Korean Fried Chicken (Male Spring Onion + Honey Butter Garlic)🍗🍗
📎Cooked tuna & fish raw Kim-bab🍙
📎Beef bulgogi Kim-bab🍙
📎Soon-dae(Korean Blood Sausage)
📎Seaweed Roll
📎Ocean Lychee Soju Cocktail🍹🌊
📎Lavender Raspberry Soju Cocktail🍹🪻

Our favourites the Tuna & Fish Raw Kim-bab, it was super tasty and such a mouthful of joy!!🤩Also a highlight for me was the unique flavours of the fried chicken we had, as a sweet tooth that sometimes crave for savoury I love the Honey Butter Garlic entirely<3 It was also my first time trying a Rosé took-bokki and I love how it wasn’t too spicy but still in rich flavour! 🍙

I would recommend going with a few friends for their food & for ‘han jan’(한잔~a couple of drinks)!🤪

Thanks to the friendly staff and Lemy who assisted us during the night💜

Nice, small (somewhat hidden) restaurant with great fried chicken. Crispy and juicy with good flavours. I recommend the honey soy and mala flavours.

The rose tteopokki was nice too. Portions were generous.

Famil-lee is a great place for homely Korean food—their rose tteokbokki is so incredible that I think about it from time to time. The corn cheese kimchi kimbap is life-changing (and it can be quite the hidden gem amongst the many choices you get in the menu)! Fried chicken store Kko-Kko also merged with them, so the menu’s expanded to include fried chicken too!

Checked out a Korean place in the CBD, and it was fully packed and super busy! You might get a table without booking if you're lucky💫 I also saw lots of people were ordering takeaway so their food must be great!
I went for their specials:

Main dish: 🥘Tteok-bokki with Rose flavour🌹
Added cheese, egg, stir-fried beef, and deep-fried squid on the side! The chef was so generous in adding lots& lots of cheese 🧀 😲

🍙Kimbap
Tried the corn cheese kimchi flavored kimbap. This is a popular Korean food you must have seen in Korean TV drama where they roll rice and different fillings 🥕🌽🌶 in seaweed, making a tasty cylinder shape. Surprisingly tasty!

🍗 Fried chicken Sweet chili& Soy and garlic
And of course, it's a must to order their Korean fried chicken. We ordered 800g of the boneless, half& half. Perfect combo of sweet, spicy, and garlicky goodnes, yum 😋 If the chicken were hotter would be even better :)

🥓Glazed pork belly was amazing too

🍹🍸🍻 ordered a jar of peach tea to share

If you're around Melb CBD and fancy some Korean food, go check out this place!! 🤗

This place serves one of the best Korean fried chicken in Melbourne, the Mustard Spring Onion flavour is a must-try. Cheeseballs and homemade tteok-bokki with mozzarella cheese were delicious too.

We ordered Rosè tteok-bokki (add on chewy noodle) and half bone-in Mala spring onion fried chicken. The tteok is soft, silky but chewy. There is lots of fish cakes in it. Chicken is crispy. I would order honey butter garlic next time because I gave weak spicy tolerance. Would come back again.

I had a really lovely time at Famil-lee. It brought me back to my street food experience in Korea.
My highlights included:
- Fried chicken (highly recommend trying the soy garlic flavour)
- Kimbap (we tried the bulgogi flavour and it was delicious)
- Corn cheese (cant go wrong with cheesy goodness)
- Tteokkbokki (We got the "baby" spicy flavour which was perfect).

Tucked at the North Eastern corner of the Melbourne CBD, is this Korean Restaurant, Famil-Lee.
Tried 3 different dishes.
The fried chicken was tender inside and crispy on the outside. Perfectly fried.
The tteokbokki, Korean rice cake dish, was nice. The spiciness was perfect. Good kick without being overly spicy. We chose the medium level (mild) after all.
The gimbap was ok.we have had better gimbap elsewhere. A bit lack of flavour.
Overall, still a good restaurant to deserve a five star review.

When you stepped into the restaurant, you feel like you’re home!

Ordered several dishes, that feels like homemade.

1. The rose topokki was really good, creamy, tasty, and has lots of flavour, combined with cheese, fish cakes, rice cakes, and sausage.

2. The snow chicken and honey butter garlic were also on point! The crunchiness and the sauce complement each other.

3. The glazed pork belly is sooo good! Must order!
The meat is so juicy and tender, paired with lettuce, chilli, and garlic. Perfecto!

4. Last but not least, the pork donkatsu gimbap. Lots of flavour into 1 gimbap, couldn’t ask for more!

The drink we paired with the dish is the peach makgeolli. Really nice!!

Come and check it out!

Second time coming here and food was just as good as I remembered. The only difference was the mini stove there used to be with the tteokbokki. The rose tteokbokki was really delicious, and the kimbap was also good. Definitely would recommend if feeling some korean food!!

The atmosphere is cafe-like and the service is welcoming and warm. The lemon lime bitter and kim-bab is nice. They offer vegetarian options as well.

Rose tteokbeokki was delicious, we recommend adding the chewy noodles!

I didn’t get to try all the kimbaps but the ones we ordered were addictive! (Cheese kimbaps and bulgogi kimbap)

The glazed pork belly was an experience! They were so tender and will melt in your mouth on contact!

Not pictured but the kimchi pancake was crispy but not dry

Overall amazing experience

There may be a line, however if it’s a long wait staff will give you a dalgona to play with and if you can cut out the shape you woll get 10% off, genius idea in my opinion.

I’ve got to recommend Familee if you’re ever after some comforting authentic Korean food, including the best kimbap, tteokbokki and fried chicken! We felt so relaxed- almost feels like a warm hug with all the flavourful and homey dishes we devoured, plus we were greeted with the most welcoming and loveliest service. We tried the-

▪Corn cheese kimchi kimbap -$16
▪Cooked tuna and fish kimbap -$16
▪Cooked prawn shiitake kimbap -$16
▪Rose tteokbokki $17 with cheese, glass noodles, squid, seaweed (extra $4-6 per item)
▪Mozzarella corn dog $9
▪Sausage and cheese corn dog $9
▪Kimchi pancake $18
▪Pork Belly $23
▪Honey Butter and Creamy Onion Fried Chicken $43
▪Strawberry Blonde Soju Cocktail $15
▪Lavender Blueberry Soju Cocktail $15

Honestly we absolutely loved everything- there’s not a single aspect we didn’t enjoy. All the food was tasty, flavourful and everything Korean street food should be. The cocktails were all delicious, the staff were sooo friendly and service was quick and efficient. We came early Tuesday evening and they were packed with customers the entire duration!

The tteokbokki here is the ultimate comfort food and had such great flavours, the perfect amount of spice that was enjoyable and warming. All the toppings was already well seasoned (not too salty which I love!) so crispy and delicious by themselves but when dipped in that tteokbokki- match made in heaven! 🤩 The corn dogs were sooo good- chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, cheesy and sweet from that sugary outer coating.

The kimchi pancake definitely also had the wow factor, warm, crispy and flavourful and so did that pork belly which had the perfect amount of fat and juiciness to it. The fried chicken was sooo juicy and tender and they had sooo many different flavours to choose from! The highlight was the range of kimbap fillings available because it’s rare to see such a delightful variety in Melbourne. The tuna is your can’t-go-wrong classic but that prawn and corn cheese kimbap one!? ABSOLUTELY loved especially dipped in the tteokbokki!!

Shoutout to Lemy for the best service and food ❤❤❤❤
