Food was really tasty and lovely service. Reasonable price and can easily share a meal between 2-3 people. The best fried chicken I’ve had! Super sad they’re closing down.

So glad I discovered this place. They have an upstairs section with cushions, dim lighting and decor that provides comfort and relaxation whilst you dig into exceptionally delicious Thai cuisine. We ordered the roti, chicken satay skewers, rice, prawn spring rolls, red curry seafood, pad prik khing pla and chicken pad Thai. The roti and pad prik khing pla was the highlight. The broth of the curry was also very tasty! Highly recommend getting a few plates to share. The service was also exceptional. The gentleman serving our table was very attentive and did some great upselling. Perfect place for a chill date on the upstairs cushions or a dinner party with a few friends. They also have tables if you prefer.

I’ve been coming here for the last 15 years with my family, have never had a bad meal. My got to are the mixed entrees, the satay dip with crackers, lamb massaman curry and coconut rice- can’t go wrong!

I don’t understand how this place isn’t busier. Their food is unreal!!! Literally best Thai food I’ve ever had! 🥹 Highly recommend.

One of the best Thai foods in Melbourne! The food is amazing and service even better. The owner makes sure your water is always full and will open the door for everyone when leaving.

We keep coming here since the restaurant opened back in 2011 and we were never disappointed. Staff is always kind and efficient and food is divine (Satay Chicken and Green Curry are to die for). Sometime we bring our own wine but their wine offer is fine as well. The atmosphere is also always nice. Also, this is the restaurant where my partner and I met for the first time and therefore, now 11 years later it has really special romantic value for us too :)

This place is an old faithful. The owners are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. Will change dishes to meet dietary requirements and the food is some good hearty Thai! Plus the floor seating on some tables makes it fun! Also BYO (+ corkage)

Tried many Thai restaurants in the area (Prahran, South Yarra and Windsor) and what did it for me was the pad Thai. Many of the pad Thai dish that I tried was way too wet but Patee did it just right in terms of texture and taste. I would say it’s quite authentic and they even serve the dish with chilli padi. That really gives a kick to the dish.

We also had the grilled chicken salad (larb gai) and duck red curry. You could really taste the grilled aftertaste in the chicken mince. The taste of the duck curry was flavourful but I find it a little watery to be honest.

I will be back to try the other dishes.

We go there every week with our kids and staff are so friendly. For the food I'm not a Thai expert, so I can't judge. For us it's very good but for Thai connoisseurs I don't know...

The Thai here is fantastic. Been going for many years and I think it has possibly become better in in the past 18 months with a few great tweaks to the menu. Chive dumplings and Bassa dishes are spectacular. But no matter what, ensure you get their prawn crackers. More home made style, delish satay sauce and moorish beyond belief. Take away fast and efficient and looking forward to eating in once lockdown is over

Look it's not the world's best Thai food but it's pretty darn good, affordable, venue reminds me of some of the more fun places I went to when living in Thailand. You'll have a lot more fun here than the over priced posh joints.

After walking past many times I finally had the opportunity to try this place. Received a warm welcome and served really quickly. When I got my takeaways home everything tasted amazing and just what I wanted for dinner, some of the best Thai fish cakes I've had in a long time

LOVE LOVE LOVE Prahran Patee Thai. Been going here for close to 15 years now and its always awesome! Now I've only ever ordered the Grilled Marinated Chicken (because I can get Thai anywhere but you can't get their GMC anywhere else) and if I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life, GMC would be on the finals list, but have tried from others plates and everything always tastes great.
Service is always good too. Cant recommend enough!

Delicious and authentic Thai food served by lovely staff. If you can, try requesting to sit upstairs in the lounge area, it's a great dining space with beautiful cushions for those happy to sit cross-legged.

Dined here last night with my mother we had the Pad Thai. The food was tasty and fresh, staff were friendly and pleasant would definitely come back again.

My go to Thai restaurant on Chapel Street. The team is polite and never had to wait too long to get our food or a table. It’s BYO Wine and very reasonably priced which is always a big plus in my books. The Massaman curry is so delicious and the pad Thai is very generously served; nine times out of ten, we order both these dishes! The only some-what problem is the tables themselves; when it’s busy and you get asked to sit upstairs, you sit in the floor. If you’re tall like me or have some back problems, it gets a bit uncomfortable by the time you have finished eating, so you may want to ring before and book a seated table. If you go on a weekday though, you got pretty good chances at getting a normal table.

The chicken galangal soup was an absolute stand out. Very friendly customer service and our meals were brought out quickly, but not too quick! We stayed for ages and were made to feel very welcome.

So amazing! Had mango chicken and coconut rice, simply the best. We were seated, served, fed and finished within 22 minutes. Without a doubt one of my favorite Thai places!
