Oriental Teahouse Melbourne CBD

My partner and I had dinner here recently. The service was wonderful! We had a lovely waiter (can't remember his name) who really took care of us by being attentive and polite. Every dish we had was full of flavour and fresh!

We had the following:

- Chilli wagyu beef dumplings (highly recommend!)
- DIY Peking duck pancakes
- Veggie spring rolls
- Shredded steak
- Veggie fried rice

The atmosphere of this place was pleasant, with lots of chatter as well as nice decor.

The restaurant has been my first stop in Melbourne since my first visit in 2018 :). The dumpling is super tasting, especially their iconic Chilli Wagyu Beef dumpling. The service is great. Highly recommended!

Went there for Yum Cha (only on Chinese New Year). Amazing service with an incredible dragon dance performance. Food was quite good too!

We ordered catering for 100 people in the office. The service was on time, professional and food was phenomenal. Everything was devoured with plenty of compliments.

I have had lunch there twice and absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant. Great staff!
Food is amazing. I've tried the Fried Chicken Ribs and Veg Friedrice on the 2 occasions I've been there.
The tea setup looks amazing near the entrance. Haven't tried the tea yet. Hopefully next time.

Great value with the banquet menu

Super tasty food the dumplings came out super quickly but we did find that after the dumplings the main and dessert did take some time to come out which was a little bit challenging to have a 2hr lunch and having meetings in the afternoon

The amaretto plum sour was absolutely amazing

One of my favourite tea houses in Melbourne! Love the range of quality teas here, and the delicious dumplings. To be fair, the prices here are more than what you'd get down Chinatown, but the fillings are unique and flavourful - the roasted duck dumplings and Scallop XO dumplings are delish! They also have a nice range of cocktails too if you're not into teas. Lovely place for a nice catch up with friends.

Great atmosphere, dumplings were fantastic enjoy whole meal. Wait. Staff were very attentive. Drinks and food came out at a good speed.

Booked a dinner for around 10 on the 17/02/24. Mostly we had shared plate however, we did have a few tricky dietary options that we catered for - and the food was still really nice. There was little to no wait, food was hot and fresh. Service, incredible. I want to mention that we had Rajshree Mahajan as our host and she was simply amazing. Clearly loves her role and passion for people. Loved it here, recommend for big groups, recommend for vegans and if you have dietary requirements.

I have been wanting to go here for the longest time. I finally got the chance last night and it did not dissapoint!!

Booked a table for 2 inside. And ordered the premium set menu which is $78 per person. Couldn't fault the food it was beautiful!!

Definitely coming back to try more of the menu. I also recommended the strawberry and yuzu cocktail 👌

This restaurant always offers consistent quality food. Their tea selection is very unique and top quality. Every time I come here, the service is amazing and friendly. Highly recommended restaurant in Melbourne.

Especially loved the prawn dumplings, very fresh, loads of filling. Was overall very enjoyable and the flavours were excellent! Would come back again next time I come to Mel.

@ the executive chef and the restaurant owner, there is a little details that could be improved, i.e. removing the non-edible stem attached to green beans before cooking, which causes so much inconvenience preventing the enjoyment of delicious food.

Such a beautiful space. First time in the city location and it did not disappoint. We did the Dumplings for Dating set menu which honestly levelled up the whole dimmer date experience. So much fun to play while they serve you each course of dumplings, mains and the amazing white chocolate dumplings for dessert. I love that my favourite cocktail the Hello Vera is part of the offer and my partner enjoyed the Pink Panther. Highly recommend for a great time, delicious food and drinks. Props to our waiter who was super attentive and adjusted the menu for my dietaries.

Gorgeous room, great atmosphere. Funky music, but not loud enough to infringe on conversation. Great cocktails and tea, limited menu of food to accompany drinks. Impeccable service. The honey pepper beef was spectacular.

I had a great time spending time here ... The restaurant has a great ambiance and the staff is very friendly, loved the food and the atmosphere, the interiors make the surroundings look very cozy and soothing to spend time. I would highly recommend this place to spend time with your friends or even to have some time with yourself.

Don’t get confused by the name, not just your ordinary tea house, this place is serving some bomb cocktails and the best crispy pork belly Iv had in a long time!

The star of the menu is the Crackling Roast Pork Belly , there are mouth-watering meals like Shredded Steak in a Sticky Sweet Chilli Sauce with String Beans & Sesame, fit Legit Special Fried Rice – Packed with Chicken, Shiitake, Chinese Sausage, An extensive plant based menu including- Veggie San Choi Bao, House made silky egg tofu which is extremely tasty.
Making sure that you have an incredibly pleasurable eating experience, the staff at Oriental is making sure you’re at ease!

Tasty food. Special fried rice & duck dumplings are to die for. Teapot cocktails are also superb to share.

I love this restaurant! the building is stunning, massive stone wall, in a little hide away street in the middle of the city! The Veg options are my favourite ❤ staff here are all so so lovely!
