Nirankar Restaurant - Indian and Nepalese Food and Catering Restaurant in Melbourne

After having visited Nirankar we personally feel it's the most underrated restaurant that has not received the kind of attention it deserve. It's way better than many (So Called) well known restaurants

What also is quite interesting about this restaurant is they do Nepalese Cuisine as well.

Ordered Lamb Cutlet, Squid Masala, Chilly Chicken, lamb Madras, Phelwa (Nepalese Fish Curry), Rice And Roti Basket.

Lamb Cutlets were simply Out Of This World. But overall, everything we ordered was amazing. No complains at all.

Service was very very very good and the pricing wasn't too bad too.

Definitely returning.

This is my most favorite Nepalese restaurant in all of Australia. They have nice ample seating and a good ambiance. The staff is friendly and the service is good. One of my top picks when I am in the city and craving some Momos!

Best-best-best place for the dining,birthday celebrations and small parties. Food is so delicious and fantastic. I’ve been there few times and most of the times the experience was such a great. I celebrated my birthday and my mate birthday over there and also Staff is so nice and helpful.*Must go*

Really tasty food. I had the vindaloo lamb and the sauce and spice were dead on. Further, on the contrary to what you would had in the UK it really had lamb (not the tipical 3-4 pieces). I also recommend the coconut rice as a side which matched perfectly to the vindaloo.

The drinks are good. Their cuisine is authentic, and the service is good. I haven't been for the thali yet but people say it's a good value.

I ordered chicken purri, it was delicious, service was great, staff were all friendly, servings are very generous

Brilliant atmosphere, service, and food.

Received a warm welcome on arrival and found the restaurant very nicely decorated (fantastic lighting and table settings).

Service was prompt and attentive, without feeling rushed.

The menu had a great variety of dishes, including an excellent vegetarian selection. The food itself was rich and filling (medium spice was manageable).

Would definitely recommend and revisit.

Is my first time try Nepalese food and it was great never expected... the stuff treat us really well, the lady names Suraksha is amazing she help us and give us anything we ask and let us enjoy the dinner. It was fabulous. 5 stars even more if I can

After a long time, I had proper Indian tasting food and also they didn't disappoint in the spiciness index. Great service by Amrita, handling the busy environment like a Champ as well as other staff members. Loved the food here!

We loved it, excellent service, friendly staff who was very kind explaining us about the food. Perfect for a couple. Curry comes with rice and bread, flavours and varieties of both Indian and Nepalese dishes. Good selection of drinks

What a place, good food and excellent service.

We had a visitor from overseas and she was allergic to Onions, though all north Indian curries base are with onions and tomatoes.

After discussing special dietary need for our guest, chefs went out of his comfort zone and made us two dishes without onions, big thanks to him

The staff were brilliant and the food was absolutely great. The staff were incredibly attentive and modified their serving portions to our group size. The place was clean and nicely set up. The music was also quiet, which was nice as we went there for my mums birthday and wanted to talk to one another.

One of the best Indian Nepalese cuisine i have ever experienced. Staff are really friendly and very helpful. They got the best gluten free bread in the town. Food are affordable and are served with smile. There garlic naan is amazing. Ambience is just perfect. I am really happy with it. Can't wait to dine in again.

AMAZING! If you are ever in the CBD make sure you stop on in, you will not be disappointed! The staff greeted us as we walked in and had our table ready, all the staff members were polite and friendly and always ensured we had enough water, drinks, food etc (above and beyond service!). The presentation of the restaurant and food were outstanding and the food just amazing and cooked exactly how we had requested. Lots of options for both Non-Veg and Veg eaters which was a massive score! I will defiantly be back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone :) - Nirankar keep up the good work!!

I wanted a good Indian restaurant to take my mother while she was in Melbourne so I wanted a highly rated place. I was pleased that Nirankar was exactly what we were after with great dishes and everything you'd expect from a good Indian restaurant. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Good experience, highly recommend.

Tried for the first time tonight and ordered a wide selection. Every single dish was fabulous. The Lamb Rogan Josh - the right amount of heat, full of flavour and very tender meat. If you love potatoes, you must order the Matter Aloo Masala - I will be dreaming about this dish! The Tadka Dal was not one I have tried before but it was flavoursome and a nice addition. I have every confidence that you couldn’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This is my new favourite and definitely at the top of the best in the CBD. An added bonus is that there are a few 10 minute parking spots at the northern end of the centre street parks so perfect to grab takeout. The place is clean and the staff, professional. Highly recommend!
