Beacon Cove/Light Rail (Port Melbourne)

Beacon Cove is a light rail station in the Melbourne suburb of Port Melbourne located on the former Port Melbourne line. Served by route 109 from Port Melbourne to Box Hill via Southern cross. One of the most scenic tram stops in Melbourne. A usually extremely busy area especially on nice days, weekends and when any ships are docked. Toilets are at the back of the railway station building. Nearby IGA supermarket, views of the beach and Port Melbourne Pier, places to eat and enjoy the ambience. Nice wide sandy beach with swimming and paddling in Port Phillip Bay is popular, especially with locals.

Great tram stop , vey quick to get to the city 🌆

Cool tram stop! The fact that all intersecting roads have mini boom gates on them makes it feel like your on a train not a tram! The access from this stop to the pier for where cruise ships and ferry’s is good as there are pedestrian crossings around. Trams run every 10 minutes so you don’t have to wait too long! Goes along a good route!

There was one guy who was ‘asleep’ the whole time, he looked like he was high. He also stunk a little. Didn’t bother me though.

For some people this is the end of the line, for others it's just the beginning. Without a doubt one of Melbourne's best tram lines, full of culture and variety. By day witness the upper-middle class professionals of the east side of the tracks commuting to and from their 9 to 5s. By night one can observe the people of the west side of the tracks, at least one shirtless drunk man, and group of young lads sporting nautica tops, speaking a bit too loud, and asking you for a spare dart. The pinnacle of Port Melbourne culture.

Easy access to city from Station Pier

This tram is the first part of your adventure with the Spirit of Tasmania ferries! P.S. Before leaving visit the Platform cafe bar next to the tram station, I had the best chocolate blueberry muffin in my life here :-)

The Immigrant Trail for tourists is doable and short- great place to take your young children. Each historic site is all within close proximity.

Tram Station from Port Melbourne to downtown Melbourne, quite cheap but not much information for people who first time here, fortunately they have apps for more information, and for buy tickets for the tram

It is exactly perfect for wheelchair people. There's parking there but there is a lot of rebuilding going on around beacon cove tram stop
