A quite small place this exceptional restaurant offers you high end menu with new tastes and a great variety. we enjoyed the set menu and some cocktails (try a Lagoon Sour). It is an efficient place.
all our courses were outstanding with dishes we've not tried before.
As it's small and the tables close together it might not be the place for a deep and meaningful conversation but we had a great little birthday celebration for four.

Oysters, yuzu ,Hot & sour shredded potato, chinkiang vinegar || Salted cucumbers, black fungus , Stracciatella, eggplant |, Stirfried rice drop noodles, Xinjiang spiced beef, cabbage, chilli, Charcoal roasted char sui, Marmite marinated lamb ribs on Garlic Bread.

Food was excellent, good service and extensive drink list including good non alcoholic options.

A menu full of DEPTH, BUOY was it good! While every single dish made me go DAM, the ox tongue crepe and steamed egg custard in particular knocked my socks off! 🤯

I cannot wait to go back and eat the rest of the menu. In the meantime, I'll just keep reminising because the food is sorely MIST 😭

Seriously, make your booking right now. It would be SEA NILE for you not to give this one a go!

Stunning service, and early Jan opening hours. Not a single miss on the menu except for the tofu, and there being not much vegetarian for one in our group. We really wanted to order one of everything.

We were there for a special birthday celebration. The food was so delicious but the char siu and beef tartare were absolute standouts. The staff excelled patiently looking after our large group.

Really professional outfit. Everyone knew what the were doing. I felt they were a bit stretched on the night I was there, but they handled that with aplomb. The food was sublime-each dish a modern take Chineses dishes many Australians will recognise.

The Marmite lamb ribs had plenty of punch. The rice drop noodles were pungent and had incredible depth. But the star of the show was the roasted char siu. When we were sat at the kitchen bar while we waited for our table, we watched the chef roasting the char siu, slicing it, plating it up on a puddle of deep brown gravy. I exclaimed: WE ARE ORDERING THIS.

A highlight that will seem peculiar to many was the potato dish. It's not something we associate with asian cuisine here in Australia. I forget what was in it apart from enoki, but it was vinegary, julienned potato cooked to perfection such that it had the slightest crunch but held firm like an al dente noodle.

And finally, the Lagoon Espresso is a delicious take on the espresso Martini. Vodka, PX sherry and orange. It renewed my interest in an old cocktail that I thought I was tired of.

One of my dining companions is a fussy eater. This was a roller coaster ride for them, but they really appreciated having their boundaries pushed. I really enjoyed the surprises too. For three of us, including 3 cocktails, and six mixed spirit drinks, the Bill came to $285. Bargain. I'm keen to go back.

Lagoon Dining was just as I expected. Actually, it exceeded my expectations. The whole experience was great from the amazing foods to the ambience and service. I particularly liked the beef tartare with a spicy kick, as well as the char siu pork of course. Highly recommended.

Delicious food. I ate the special menu chicken sandwich. It was crispy on the outside, juicy, and delicious on the inside. The spiciness of the sauce was wonderful.

The food here is pretty exceptional. Every time we’ve come here there’s been something new to delight in. The char siu is special and the rolled noodles are the best!!
The menu has a high emphasis on vegetables, and all the vege based dishes were probably our favourites.
Good little wine list too, and the house cocktails were tasty.

Delicious food and wonderful service at a lovely location!

As an Asian, having the main cutlery being chopsticks is definitely an immediate plus. Looking past that, the food was incredible and it was all packed with so much flavour! Definitely recommend ordering the Kingfish with the buns for starters and the Char Siu for mains.

The service from Chris was also incredible. He took very good care of us and was very honest when he thought we ordered too much (and he was 100% correct).

Would highly recommend coming here on a chilly night and leaving yourself 2 hours for the dine.

Six of us dined here, the food and the service throughout was exceptional. The wait person was clearly doing an amazing job, largely on her own. Great advice and approach to us all and good humoured. The food is creative and flavoursome. Too many standouts to name any particular dish. The room upstairs gets noisy when full. We will be back, it’s so good

Wonderful. Nice, clean modern but warm ambiance, with open kitchen in the back and bar seating available for those who want to watch the action. Inventive adaptations of various Asian dishes showcase the excellent produce and ingredients with creative flair. The results are delicious and flavour-packed with good balance across each course in the fair-value Feed Me degustation menu. Thoughtfully put-together wine list is broad enough to have something for everyone while still being approachable. Lovely staff who clearly care and know what they’re doing. Highly recommended.

My rating star increases as long as the staff keep sending the dishes to the table. The decorations is no doubt 5 star but space was little bit narrow in the restaurant. This is an Asian style fine dining. When I firstly looked at the menu I found how greedy the restaurant is charging way too high for those daily common Chinese cuisine. We ordered the Lion’s head meat ball, the beef tongue, the beef tartare, the rice noodles roll and the steamed fish. There are reasons why the food worth their price. Their lion’s head flavored super traditional even better than those Chinese chefs restaurant. The beef tartare has also flavored as Thai style with veggies to decrease the hot feeling. Must try! The steamed fish is friendly to those who cannot spit fish bone properly. The restaurant has altered the dishes flavored to make them suitable for costumers from anywhere. Super special. Recommended

Lagoon Dining takes traditional Chinese flavours and elevates them to a whole new level in their Modern Asian eatery.

They know their food as their fusion of Western flavours in traditional cooking is no joke.

Always scared to try fusion food as my inner Asian blood will get analytical and be disappointed. Lagoon Dining did not disappoint.

Had such an amazing time here with my friends! The staff were friendly and hospitable, explained how the menu works and the specials of the day. Food was on point and good waiting times! Absolutely delicious and you can tell the chefs take pride in their presentation and taste. Not pretentious, good portions and the price is fair. Would highly recommend this place and will be back again! Keep up the amazing work guys! :)

This was my second time here, came this time for my friends birthday. Like the first time I was blown away. The food looks as good as it tastes, I wanted to keep eating but I was so full by the end. The restaurant has a feed me option which I highly recommend as you get as taste for a lot of different things which is great. The vibe is really nice and the restaurant is not huge which makes you feel special and gives the restaurant a personal and intimate feeling.

I would definitely recommend coming here if you want to have a nice dinner out, the menu changes on a regular basis I believe so it’s a new experience each time.

Definitely excited to come back here when I have a chance to. 100% deserving of 5 stars! :)

Went there for my birthday dinner and it was a great choice.
Eventhough, there are not many dishes to choose from but what we had were all delicious.
My favourite dish was mapo tofu. Well seasoneing, good mixed of texture of soft tofu and crump crispy chicken skin on top. It was so so good. I would lick the plate if i can!
Service was friendly and the staff are very attentive.
Would definitely come back for another special occasion.

Awesome food! I'd been wanting to go here since I read about it last year and finally got the chance when the kids were away. This is modern stylish Chinese food. Reminded me a bit of the old Ricky and Pinky. Everyone dish we had was great, though I must say the flavours are on the strong (salty) side, which I love. Good thing I work just around the corner, cause I can definitely see this place as a regular :)
