I had a torn Meniscus in my left knee seen dr Miller at his rooms in Carlton on 20/7/2023 he seen how much pain I was in he was very good and friendly he booked me in for surgery at Footscray Private on the 24/7/23 only 4 days after seeing him surgery went smoothly I am now at home resting feeling good with no pain thank you Dr Miller

Russell is an outstanding orthopaedic surgeon. I suffered a complicated fracture of the lower leg and could have lost my leg. Thanks to Russell's meticulous internal fixation, I was able to return to skiing. I used to practice as a doctor and I was told by colleagues I was lucky to get him.

Great surgeon cannot recommend highly enough. If you value punctual, professional and highly experienced surgeons, he is fantastic. From my first meeting to my full recovery I could not be more delighted. Thank you Russell.

I have read the reviews that has given Dr Russell Miller less than 5 stars & i must say that I totally disagree with ALL of them.

Dr Russell Miller performed an Arthroscopy on my knee today at 8am.  It has been 14 hours since my surgery & i have had absolutely NO pain or discomfort.
Prior to my Surgery Dr Miller came over to the waiting room & spoke to me & reassured me.

I found Dr Russell Miller to be honest, direct & professional, in the manner in which he answered all my questions & I am extremely impressed by him, his knowledge, his experience & his professionalism.

I raise my hat off to Dr Russell Miller & the Staff at Western Private Hospital Footscray for being so patient with me in spite of me being so fearful & nervous of the procedure.

I totally recommend Dr Russell Miller.
If he is your Surgeon.. you have chosen well.
I give Dr Russell Miller 10 or more STARS.

I had a hip replacement and he made my leg 2.5 cm shorter and I have a permanent limp, which affects my back and my knee. He kept forgetting which hip needed to be replaced, he was never focused on me. It was all about moving me on and not engaging in pleasantries, it was a factory.

Botched up a partial knee replacement on me twelve years ago. Wrong components and placed incorrectly. I have been worse off since! With ongoing mobility issues and, pain. He agreed that the surgery wasn't a success with a nod as he records his appointments. No top orthopaedic surgeon will touch it to correct the problem until l am crawling!

I was referred to Mr Miller for a medical report on a back injury and residual nerve damage in my foot incurred many years ago.
Alarm bells initially started ringing when I was referred to a “hip and shoulder surgeon” for back injury and nerve damage but ... I followed instructions.
Then, due to COVID restrictions, the appointment was changed to a Telehealth call, which raised further concerns.
(How do you view, assess and test somebody’s back and nerve damage over the phone with any reliability and detail?)

Unfortunately, the consultation was an absolute debacle.
I spent more time standing idly by while Mr Miller and his assistant clarified and discussed notes (that his assistant had prepared prior to the appointment) than actually viewing my foot.
There was very little discussion regarding my foot, limited viewing (using the camera on my phone), obviously no touching, assessing or testing and the whole process was over virtually before it began.
(Mr Miller asked me to hand the phone to someone else so he could see me walk- when I replied “I’m on my own; I deliberately chose somewhere quiet and private so we wouldn’t be disturbed”, the consultation was wound up very quickly.)

So imagine my surprise when the report was emailed to me indicating a full and detailed assessment had been done, including results of functional tests that were never done, or even discussed.

This fabrication of results (for tests that were never done) not only made the report absolutely useless but raised very serious concerns regarding trust and integrity.
(Quite why a medical professional would risk his credibility and reputation by fabricating test results still baffles me).

I have written to Mr Miller to air my concerns and ask him to reduce his (exorbitant) fee to a price that more reasonably reflects the poor quality of the consultation but six months later I still haven’t had the courtesy of a reply.

Based on my experience with this practitioner, combined with the considerable number of negative reviews already appearing on this page, I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

We call him 2 minute Doctor that how long my appointment was. We were timeing his appointments with patience .
Follower up appointment between his surgery at the hospital no after care. Not a good results

Had left knee arthroscopy for severely painful knee issue from a bad meniscal tear - post surgery felt worse and was referred to a more experienced surgeon for more surgery, who enabled me to run again.

He doesn’t deserve any star at all.
He ruined my life. He did an incomplete surgery in my knee and made the condition worse. Perhaps I will never be able to join the job that I was dreaming to after completing my study as I can’t walk properly.

Need help

Absolutely a disgrace. Rude and arrogant. Full knee replacement failed with 2 follow up operations failing. 4 years later cannot walk and still heavy pain. Should lose his license. Seems to have a hell of a lot of negative reviews.
