Delicious Authentic Indian Food! Le Taj is beautifully decorated and the food here is super authentic! Our first time trying the Hara Kebab and it blew our minds! Super tasty and unique! It was filled with spinach, cheese and fenugreek! Another favourite was the chilly paneer. A must order.

Highly recommended. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We shared the Tandoori tasting plate and the flavors were spectacular. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff were friendly. The prices were reasonable. I have to eat gluten and dairy free and they accommodated without any fuss.

Amazing food, friendly service and well priced. Their signature chicken curry, vegetable biryani and vegetarian tasting plate was excellent and super tasty.

Le Taj is a fantastic Indian restaurant in Melbourne! The ambiance is cozy, the service is top-notch, and the food is delicious. We tried Melbourne's hottest curry, and it lived up to its reputation, but beware, it's really spicy! Only my partner tried it, and let's just say our bathroom was out of commission for the next 24 hours! If you love flavourful food and don't mind a little spice, Le Taj is a must-visit!

Went to Le Taj last night with my sister. Celebrated the end of chemotherapy at nearby Peter Mac.
Gorgeous, authentic Indian food and the service was also exceptional.
Will definitely go back.
The butter chicken was exquisite as was the entree.
The dishes were not heavy and left us feeling satisfied but not too full.

Le Taj is such a great restaurant with beautiful decor, an authentic menu and exceptional food.

We had a couple of the curries, samosas and chicken tikka which all looked and tasted beautiful. The curries bursted with flavour and I recommend any of these dishes as they were all so yum.

It was all so great, service was good too! A must visit if you're thinking of visiting.

The naan bread was really fresh and hot and was really tasty with the curries, which were packed with so much flavour.
I also really liked the Gulab Jamun, was great on the dessert platter.

The mural and mirror decorations as well as the neon lights gave a very nice decorative touch and and the food came out pretty quickly.

Nothing better than a hearty Indian feast during these cold winter days. Here you can dine on rich and delicious curries, aromatic grilled meats and seafood, and of course crispy and flaky naan. The curries are bold in flavour, and the meats and seafood are cooked beautifully. Amazing flavours abound, be ready for a gastronomic experience here!

This would have to be the best Indian meal I’ve ever had. The butter chicken was so full of flavour with lots of depth to it, the vindaloo was hot but also full of flavour. I’m looking forward to going back for the hotter curries.

We ordered some Indian food from Le Taj for an office lunch for 30 people. The food was absolutely scrumptious, fresh & full of flavor!! The order took under 90 minutes to prepare and the whole process was seamless! Everyone loved the food & fair to say that it was big success! We will definitely order from Le Taj again.

We visited Le Taj on a bitter cold night for some warming Indian cuisine. The restaurant itself was spread over three heritage building and the menu had plenty to tempt us.

The chicken tikka entree sizzled on arrival and was a welcome accompaniment to our mango lassi which were very good.

There wouldn’t be a time where we haven’t ordered butter chicken at an Indian restaurant and this one was nicely sweet and had a good balance of cream vs tomato.

The lamb korma was ultra tender and I loved mopping up that sauce with the garlic naan.

Then came the challenge!!! My dining buddy dated me to try Melbourne’s Hottest Curry. This firey dish lived up to its name. I am so fortunate to have had some lassi left as I struggled with the heat from just a couple of spoons. Give it a crack if you dare.

After all that heat we enjoyed a well put together dessert platter.

I am sure its hard to believe that its another year and many of you Indians stuck here can’t be home for Diwali.

What we had here:

Le Taj Tandoori platter, everything in this spread is exceptionally tasty, has the perfect balance of smokiness and spiciness, juicy, tender meat from chicken to lamb kebabs and tikkas. Must try.

Le Taj Special Lamb Bhuna Kadhai Wala, absolutely mouth melting, packed with rich flavours, and truly divine. You’ll lose yourself in it’s irresistible taste. Highly recommend.

Mutter Paneer, a beautiful and classic paneer dish, which is perfect for cold winter nights. So satisfying, mildly spicy yet very flavoursome. Perfect to eat this curry with some naan

Garlic and cheese naan, so perfectly flaky, soft, yummy Indian flat bread.

Chicken Mughlai Biriyani, once again very classic, tasted so real, lovely comforting flavours, with juicy tender chicken. Must try.

We had our with a glass of moscato and a rose, and both were very good, went so well with our food.

For desserts, we tried the Nutella naan, it’s something really unique and the Nutella flavour isn’t too overwhelming in this, tasted more like a regular naan with a hint of Nutella. This was an okay from me. Wouldn’t recommend this one.

The vibe here is very classy and truly a best place to have a celebratory dinner/lunch with your fam. Or even perfect for date night because of the moody and charming ambiance.

The prices are standard and the service is friendly and attentive. The staff here are all very polite, welcoming and kind humans.

Great vegetarian options, and everything was delicious.

Came here wanting to try Melbourne’s hottest curry. I had it with some garlic naan which were amazing. The mutton in the curry was tender and delicious. The curry was certainly hot, but it still had an amazing flavour to it. It is not the spiciest food I ever had but it’s a nice meal on a cold day. It wasn’t too expensive for everything I had as well. The staff was nice and the restaurant had a nice cozy atmosphere. Overall I’d say it’s a pretty good place to go have authentic Indian food and I will certainly go back again.

We came here for dinner and we were very pleased with the food and service. The staff members were very friendly and attentive. Food was really delicious. We had the lamb biryani and chicken korma with their super soft garlic naan! Top it off with mango lassi and you will be super satisfied! Oh if you have room for dessert, make sure to try their Gulab Jamun, a kind of sweet milk dumpling dessert. The interior is very cosy and beautiful too. Check them out today!

Venue had a very authentic feel to it and the decor and environment was lovely the staff and service were equally as great! Would definitely return as leaving we already booked another reservation the following week.

Favourite Indian in Melbourne. The butter chicken was creamy with a hint of spice, full of delicious tender chicken. Garlic naan was great and full of garlic. The only thing I'd change is the mango lassi, it was too sweet for my liking.
