Love this spot!

Exceptionally clean, relaxed , great guests and great staff.

Huge communal areas, clean rooms, happy hour at the bar!

The location is incredible - right on the free tram zone and opposite the best market in Melbourne !

Wifi was incredible and the kitchen , fridges , bathrooms are all in great Nick.

absolutely lovely staff!!
i'm enjoying my stay a lot, but there's some things to be noted that could be a dealbreaker for some:
the shared (men's) showers are very narrow and the ceiling is a bit moldy. there's hardly any space to stand when swinging the glass door, and the shower head is right above my head, but it works (for me - though i could imagine people of larger sizes could have problems).
from what i've seen, there's no gender-neutral shower, but since there's an extra women's shower, maybe that one could be redeclared as unisex?
also, the kitchen is quite tiny, but so far, it has worked fine for me. in addition to the one in the fridge, there's more fridges in the hallway.
the hostel's reception is located in the pub (the vic, entrance in the building's corner facing the victoria market); the hostel itself has a separate entrance around the corner, which can only be entered with the keycard (also, no visitors allowed).
all in all, i think the hostel is lovely!

Had stayed here for 8 nights ,room is clean ,service is great ,staff is kind and very helpfull during my stays,location is great there are 2 tram stops in free zone area outside the hostel,victoria market is just across the street.

The food is excellent. I've had both the porterhouse steak and the chicken parma there and I would definitely have them again

I had a great stay at this hostel. I arrived to check in around 8pm and told the young lady I have a tour booked at 8.30 near Flinders St Station. The check-in was done quickly and she told me she would place the linen in my room for me so I didn't have to carry it ( I didn't have time to go to the room). I received a text message when I got to the tour from the lady. It said she has made up my bed for me because she knows I will be coming back late! This is the best service I have ever received from any hostel in Australia.
The room was spacious and airy. There were curtains and individual power points for each bed. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The air-con in the room made the temperature comfortable all night. The shower had strong water pressure and nice hot water. The location is great because there are two tram stops outside the door. They ask for a $50 refundable deposit initially and this was refunded in two days.

Best pub and great food. Service is amazing.

The young lady on the reception was brilliant one a lot for me and only stayed a night sean from ireland

Very accommodating staff and the hostel, room and toilets are clean. There's a pub downstairs. Recommended!

The best hostel I stayed at in Melbourne, I didn't know what to expect when I booked here but was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable and very clean. The location is very nice too, right across the Queen Victoria Market with easy access to public transport. I thought it would be noisy due to the location and the bar under it but it wasn't a problem (my stay was on a weekend). The hostel is smaller than the others I stayed at in Melbourne so it is easier to talk to people. The common areas (kitchen, showers, toilets) are very small, but it was never a problem while I was there.

I went here with a mate for a pint or two. The service from everyone was fantastic.

The man who initially welcomed us was really friendly and the lady who served me was absolutely lovely. She was friendly and very helpful.

The tap beers were cold and whilst this pub looks old school from the outside its whit bright and spotlessly clean on the inside.

The ceiling is a must see, especially when it gets dark outside.

This appears to be a locals pub with the bar staff knowing a number of people by name.

I had THE best time. Thank you so much I will definitely be back!

Interior was very well maintained and felt new. Amazing attention to detail on how the rooms were fitted - like motion sensored bedside lamps and hallway lights, extension power boards on both sides of the bed for both people, clothes drying racks and full length mirror. Little decorative pots and plaques in the room also made it feel homely and modern. The bathrooms were very clean. Corridors and stairs were narrow but the whole layout made very efficient use of space. Used the coin-operated washing machine without issue. Owners were lovely and hospitable, but also made clear the terms and conditions of stay at checkin so there were no surprises (mainly strict rules surrounding security, keeping common areas tidy and not eating in rooms).

Had a get together/catch up with mates in their function area. We all had a great time and would highly recommend this place. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of drinks and cocktails to chose from.

First time staying at a hostel and viewed it as a warmup for when I travel Europe. This place did not disappoint in this role. I went with some friends and me and it was incredibly convenient for us who had travelled from the countryside and went out during the night.
Great service and location near Queen Vic Market.

The best hostel ever!! They are so friendly and kind and the room was super clean. I guess the owner here he always try to keep the rooms very clean and comfortable. Everything was so good! You guys made my super good memories about Melbourne. thanks

This place is awesome for anyone travelling or just crashing the night in melb. Teams to cityare right next door, staff are super friendly and the place is clean and cosy. First time staying here but It will be my go to when travelling down here from now on!

Nice clean hostel in great location. Small but has everything you need. It can be a bit noisy at night time so take ear plugs.

Had a lovely stay at this renovated hostel. Everything was brand new! It was clean and felt really welcomed. The location is perfect with the lovely Victoria markets next door. Kitchen is only a bit small, so if you like cooking then you have to wait sometimes.

Amazing vibe and energy at this place! Not too loud, not too quiet.. perfect! Great service by the bar people and they’re quite nice on the eye too!
Will be back 100% and encourage you to come here and experience for yourself!!
