I went here because my housemate had such a good experience. And now I see why it’s so popular - I love my hair! Such an amazing salon, this is definitely the best haircut I have ever had. They check in with you heaps and are understanding that you don’t want to be at the salon every few months. They listen and help you be a low maintenance girlie ☀

Despite being the worst customer (I was late, spilled my coffee all over the floor first thing in the morning🤦🏼‍♀), Elissa and Dylan provided the best hairdressing experience in Melbourne. They are both masters in their craft and understood how my hair behaves. I was also impressed that I wasn’t unnecessarily upsold a service with my colour. I’ve been taught by both Dylan and Elissa how to properly maintain my new hair. The salon has a really nice vibe, and the staff are all lovely. So impressed that I’ve already rebooked 😊

Absolutely love coming to shibui. I’ve been seeing Steph Yanon for colour the last 5+ years and wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair! She is incredible. The number of compliments I get about my hair and the length of time I can go between appointments is a testament to her ability to give me gorgeous, natural-looking highlights. I’m constantly recommending her and shibui to anyone who loves an understated, natural, low maintenance look. I’ve had a few different cutters here over the years and all have been fantastic - most recently Elisa, who has been brilliant. Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly, cannot fault their service. I’m also happy with the pricing, very reasonable for the incredible work Steph does. I can easily go 8+ weeks before feeling like I need a touch up. As a newer client, they check in after your appointment to see if you were happy with your result. Great location. Easy to make appointments. Not pushy about purchasing products or up selling you on services. Love shibui! Love Steph!

I’m a person that has naturally curly hair and I love it. I don’t spend much time on my hair in the mornings apart from a brush and let it dry naturally, so when I read Shibui’s ethos it sounded like a perfect fit.

Going in for a BIG cut and a fresh look, I was happily in the capable hands of Brent. Watching him work his magic was mesmerising. The team were so warm and friendly, and made me feel really comfortable with a giggle or two.

I'm writing this review several months after my actual haircut. I loved it when I walked out of the salon, but I LOVE IT even more now!! It is exactly what I wanted. Brent was able to make my vision come to life and I didn't even have the words to describe it, but he just got it. The philosophy of Shibui is prime - they will give you an effortlessly stylish haircut that requires minimal upkeep and lets you get ready quickly in the morning and out the door. No extra products or heat necessary to look put together.

From my significant experience with this salon, Laura and the staff are brilliant. Très sophistiqué.
They are highly skilled, and honest about their views. As a client, you want that. You want guidance from someone with style and a refined eye .
This salon has good energy because the people that work there have good energy. I highly recommend them.

My absolute favourite hair stylists and colourists in Melbourne. I've been a regular for 6 months. Laura and Emily gave my hair a complete makeover, and I had a pretty risque scalp bleach and chop... couldn't have been more thrilled. They understand how my hair works, and what looks good, and manage my expectations perfectly.
Recently I've been seeing Shaun for my scalp bleach. He is incredible, I walk away happier every time.

I had an amazing haircut by Emily! I love shibui’s ethos of fuss-free natural haircuts and I got exactly that. The haircut is so easy to manage and style myself, and I love that I was shown how to style it myself at the end of the cut. The hair sits beautifully right now with or without styling. Can’t recommend Emily and shibui enough.

I had my first Shibui appointment last Friday, Vanessa greeted me and she was so lovely. I went into this appointment with a pretty neglected head of hair but Jacob was so attentive and intuitive and knew exactly what would suit my hair’s natural state. Once the cut was complete he showed me and talked me through exactly how to achieve a low fuss everyday style with my hands and I’m soo grateful because I had no idea. A+ to Jacobs cutting skills and personability, I’ll definitely be back!

Loved the girls today (Rebecca & Emily), they fixed a bad hair cut and colour I had somewhere else. So professional, considerate, on trend and understanding. I love my new hair cut and colour.
