Lovely setting and great experience watching stand up comedy

Loved performing here. It was my first time performing a solo show in Melbourne (I live in Sydney), the venue is very helpful with marketing in the weeks prior, and with setting up the piano and AV on the night. Lindsay, Megan and team were so welcoming and warm, I really appreciated it!

Lindsay is such a caring and passionate person. Club Voltaire is a great little gem for low-key shows and entertainment.

A little hidden gem. We went to Wednesday night comedy. 7:30-9:30 for ten bucks. Must have been 15 people there or so. So very cozy. Hosts were wonderful and started the night off right. Then we was 7 comics, all short little sets. And all were great! Thanks for the great experience.

Will note it is up some narrow stairs so if you handicapped, I’d give them a ring to see if there is access through a different entrance.

Voltaire is a fantastic club with a great vibe, awesome atmosphere and a friendly welcoming nature. We have been performing here for years and love working with Lindsay and his staff. The recent renovations and upgrades make the club even better than ever and the venue is perfect for our shows.

If you’re after a venue to hold a show, or your coming to a show that’s held here you will love it! Voltaire is always our first recommendation and we will always perform here, no matter how big we get.

I absolutely love this place and have been going on and off for years. Just a dinky little space, modestly run with many comedy shows and a couple of live acts now and again. The chap who runs it is very genuine and just ended up running it somehow - I've had a few good chats with him over the years. Will keep supporting this venue, it's places like this that give Melbourne it's character and make it a lovely place to live.

Cosy space, fantastic owner

I love Club Voltaire. As a performer it’s a great venue to present your works. Every show I host and perform at I’m always pleasantly surprised by the other artists acts.
You never know what you’re going to get - it’s a performance lucky dip that won’t disappoint.

We were in Melbourne on a wet and windy Sunday evening looking up something to do other than the usual pub crawl. We found this gem, a short tram ride out of the CBD. Intimate little venue with a great atmosphere and some very very funny stand up. Thanks for a top night!

We had such a nice night and enjoyed the comedy festival. The place is small and cosy and the staff super polite.

Went for the Friday open mic night. Really cool place small but not crowded, always some free seats. Good atmosphere friendly people. Will definitely go back again.

Enjoyed the experience despite the compact premises problematic parking and difficulty finding the place. It's obvious that lots of effort goes into organising the shows... and we appreciated it.

A great live music venue with good seating, nice stage and friendly atmosphere. It is so hidden away that no one can find it but worth the effort.

Great on a Friday night for open mic comedy. Lindsay behind the bar is helpful and friendly. Had a blast. Will be returning.

Beautiful building. The gallery is great and the small theatre is greater. The staff are very accommodating
