Real Japanese vibe to this place, loved it! Came on a busy Saturday night with friends and we were seated at the bar area. Lots of little pig figurines decorate the entire restaurant. You get a good view into the food prep area. I had the tonkatsu set meal, which was amazing. Also highly recommend the beef tataki. Standard price point for a mid range restaurant. Will be taking friends back!

Our experience here was amazing!

The Scotch Eggs were unique and scrumptious
The Hamburg with Cheese was delicious and filling, the salad and potato salad were great too
The Pork Eyefillet and Oysters were amazing, especially the oyster.

The chefs know what they are doing! The staff were nice and attentive, and the ambience was good. The prices are great for the quality and skill for these dishes!

It does get packed during peak hours though, so make sure to book in advance!

A MUST VISIT for authentic, quality Japanese. If I could, I'd give this restaurant a SIX! Hands down one of the BEST restaurants in Melbourne and even in the world. Fantastic service, amazing pork and entrees dishes, and an overall great value. Highly highly recommend.

An excellent dining experince I had in here, with a combination of amazing food and great service. The ambiance has taken my memory back in Japan, during my travel a while ago.

This place has not have plenty of seats, and booking is strongly advised. Within 1.5h, I could taste beautiful kurobuta pork loin which was perfectly fried. It was crunchy yet not oily. The meal came in a set, that has rice, salad, miso soup, and assorted pickles.

As opposed to many other casual dining restaurants, which like to take customers as many as possible, this place accentuates comfort and privacy. They don't hesitate to decline walk in customers even if there are empty seats available. This, didn't make me feel in to be in a rush, and definitely makes me want to come back to try another menu.

Fantastic food and service. Been trying different dishes and my favourite so far are tuna carpaccio, omurice and tonkatsu! White hot pot is perfect for winter-like weather as well. Will be back and try some more for 100%

It was one of the best katsu I have ever had in Melbourne! Thin crispy battered katsu but juicy inside. I finished all the food on my plate it was that good.

Good lunch place to go to during work lunchtime, or with friends.

First time coming here. It was a pleasant experience, humble food with great flavour. Would definitely come back here again and try different menu, it seems like their katsu Don is a must try (everyone orders that).

I went to dinner and had sashimi, and special mix fried (pork, fish, cream croquet) and almond tofu for dessert. This is true authentic Japanese, and both the sashimi and mix fried dish were amazing. The staff was also very friendly and the pig decoration throughout the restaurant was a nice touch. I will certainly be back!

It was a small restaurant so might be worth booking in advance. We went around 8pm with no booking but they still managed to squeeze the 2 of us in the booths surrounding their cooking area. Had their omurice and chicken katsu curry. The flavours were spot on. Just wish the portions were bigger!😄

Definitely a hidden gem. The best pork Japanese bento in the city if you are pork lover. Their deep fried pork is so chunky, tasty, and importantly not oily. Cooked to perfection. There are sauces can help yourself to eat the pork by adding additional flavors. Bento set is free when you order main dish as lunch, saving $8. The little restaurant decorated very pretty, you can see pig cartoons everywhere. Fully Japanese owned restaurant with best food quality. Must book regardless what time you go. Very limited tables. Large groups is situable if booked. Located in small laneway. Very close to public transport. Car parks nearby. Prices are standard as per Japanese cusine.

5 stars for the foods and cocktails! The place is small, so booking is essential.

The service is excellent. The server carefully explains the food and how to eat it best, and I had Special Fry Mix meal set, Grilled Shabu-shabu, and a glass of Cassis Oolong cocktail. It’s a perfect place for date, but maybe not for group booking (more than 4 persons).

Restaurant with pork menu as a selling point It can be said that the decoration of the restaurant will focus on pork, especially from the shop sign. Until the raw materials of food This restaurant is Japanese fusion food. There are many menus to choose from. Recommended menus made from pork All dishes are delicious. Should reserve seats first Because a lot of customers No booking may not have seats.

Nice casual place for a quick meal. They have a lot of variety in the menu, the tonkatsu and creamy crab croquette were not as crispy as I expected but still quite delicious. Portion wasn't paticularly big but enough to feel satisfied. Tonkatsu sauce and salad dressing are self-serve so you can season your meal to your taste.

It’s fried pork and oyster meal, they both tasted very crispy and yum, not grease at all. Lunch specials are worth a try.

Delicious food. Chef Kenji's does wonders in this small venue with open kitchen. You can see him prep the food and also what's happening in the kitchen. The quality of the sashimi is divine (apparently Tuesday it's there freshest), wagyu beef tataki... We can't get enough of it. Just melts in your mouth. And there tonkatsu, so crispy and juicy. Why go anywhere else? We love it and we always come back.
