My Daughter has been having classical guitar lessons with Josh for 9 years now. Josh is an outstanding teacher and it has been a pleasure witnessing my daughter's musical development and passion for playing the guitar grow under his tutelage.

Our daughter has been having lessons with Josh for more than 7 years now. Josh has nurtured a passion for music in her that will be a lifelong source of joy and satisfaction. She's also becoming a really good guitar player! We couldn't be happier.

My son has just completed first term with Josh. He came to us highly recommended and we're super happy with the quality and detail that Josh brings to the lessons. The material he provides is incredibly diverse and yet targeted carefully to challenge my son's development as a guitarist. Very happy.

Josh (Media Luna Guitar Tuition) is a wonderful and talented guitar teacher. He is patient, kind and thoughtful, and has nurtured our daughter's love of guitar. He takes his time to work through pieces and technical work with our daughter, encouraging her to work at her own pace whilst also setting high expectations and keeping her motivated to practice and improve. He supported her through her first exam and she has also been fortunate to be able to share and celebrate all her hard work with other students at the recital at the end of the year. We would highly recommend Josh to anyone who wants to learn guitar.

Josh is a friendly and very professional music teacher and an accomplished practicing musician. Josh can teach classical and contemporary, our son is learning the latter in grade 3. Josh has a skill and strength of character to keep our son focused on the key points of the lesson, and exam prep and encouraging him to follow up with practice, and not to get distracted purely by the 'cool stuff'. Josh still makes the lessons fun and our son looks forward to his lessons.

We were so lucky to find Josh (Media Luna Tuition) for our daughter! We were about to go to an academy and we are so grateful we did not, last minute.

Josh has been teaching my 9 year old daughter, and he manages to hit the sweet spot of being rigorous and organised in his teaching while keeping the child highly motivated. Always friendly and professional at the same time, with clear learning aims. This is NOT an easy thing to achieve, and requires special skills as a teacher (in particular with children). I guess it also helps a lot that everybody notices quickly his passion for music and guitar. Highly recommended.

Josh is a fantastic teacher. He's very knowledgeable guitar and music, and really good at bringing out the best in his students. He's also really kind and makes the lessons fun and personalised for wherever you're at with your music.

December 2017 update.

Now with Josh's excellent teaching I'm working towards my Grade 4 AMEB and even working on extremely challening Paco Pena pieces! I also know how well Josh can teach via Skype as we've since moved away from Melbourne. I highly recommend Josh as a teacher for all ages!

With Josh's teaching I just managed to achieve a high distinction for my AMEB grade 1 exam! The first time in my life! At aged 35 I never thought I could!

Learning with Media Luna Guitar Tuition allows us to communicate our requirements, and we are not learning guitar in a single fixed style. My previous guitar teacher was rigid in the requirement to learn a Bach piece regardless of if I wanted to or not.

With such a wide range of guitar music, it’s great to have teacher who is not fixed in their teaching. Who knows, I might decide at some point to change focus back to electric guitar, I know that with Josh I can do this without a concern.

Josh has taught my son classical guitar for the past 4 or so years and has been not only a fantastic teacher who has helped my son achieve excellent results, but a warm and positive person: a great role model for children and adults alike.

Josh is a great teacher. He is able to encourage his students in what they can do, while at the same time pushing them to extend their playing. His love of the guitar and his enthusiasm is infectious.

Josh has been fantastic in listening to our individual needs. Thanks to him I got the top grade for my first AMEB exam! He has helped me get two theory grades under my belt, with a third to follow soon, in under a year.

I think the reason he is so successful is because he makes it fun, and that is the whole point of playing music. He intersperses the syllabus pieces with more ambitious pieces (my ‘wish’ pieces) along the way.

That way I am achieving my AMEB goals but also deriving tremendous pleasure from learning harder tunes and also new techniques along the way. All our family are now having lessons, and we are starting to play some pieces together which is great!

Josh is a wonderful teacher, and has been teaching our son for almost 2 years. Patient, dedicated and inspiring. Cannot recommend more highly.
