Newman Visitor Centre

Just a brief layover for us, however, comfortable and clean with decent showers and a good bed!
Quite pricey, but we expected it out here!

Can’t speak highly enough of staff in the tourist office I think It was Michelle. Thank you for being so kind and caring when we broke down in Newman. You were very busy but showed real empathy and offered help.

We did the mine tour in November, the tour is interesting. Michelle the lady who does the talk is amazing, so knowledgeable and friendly, not just about the tour but the whole area. Thanks for your help Michelle.

Fantastic service from all the staff at the Visitor Centre, particularly with the unexpected issues with the caravan parks. We were provided a quiet seat, power and wifi to watch a live stream of our friend's funeral with the staff checking that we were okay.
At the temporary park the facilities are clean, showers are hot and a short walk to shops and the pub. While the setting may not be ideal, it's more about the people you meet which made for a pleasant stopover. Locals were friendly and happy to see visitors in town.

Weary Family of 4 stayed 1 night after travelling from Perth to Newman on our way to Broome.
The chalets were very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of warm bedding ( for July stay, cold at night). Well thought out utensils from Microwave to plates bowels cups and glasses. Thanks for the little touches of enough milk for that welcome cup of tea on arrival.
Surprise how little noise we heard despite being near a busy road and petrol station. Thankyou to the lovely ladies at the visitors centre who wee always very friendly and helpful with my questions. Would tjourgly recommend this place to stay.

Every staff member was extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in the car park for two nights - toilets very clean. Water available and dump point. Bought lovely gifts and enjoyed a scones etc. One week later I rang to purchase another item and again the staff were fantastic to deal with and there was no problem with posting item back to Perth. Thank you Newman Visitor Centre for making Newman a pleasant stop over. Elizabeth Mavrick

Very friendly staff and try the mine bus tour. It's really worthwhile, especially the lovely scones on returning.

A wonderful clean and comfortable home away from home. Best place to stay in Newman!!! The rooms are tastefully decorated, they are very clean and bright. The staff are delightful and helpful and the shop has some fab little treasures. A recommended place to stay

Great place to stay. Clean renovated rooms and very comfortable, great staff, right in the middle of town.

Great stopover in the carpark for a night for $10 as caravan parks were full. Muzz buzz coffee on the doorstep. Very friendly and helpful staff at the visitor centre. We were even given a toilet key ( no showers though which I didn't expect anyway )

We experienced helpful staff who made our visit to the minesite and town memorable.

We were lucky to find this beautiful place on our long trip from the Kimberley to Pilbara. We were pretty confused to choose where to stay as most accommodation offered the price over $200 or even more for an overnighter. We couldn't find this place in any booking app we had on our phone so we had to have a good search on google. the good review helped me to decide this might be the best place to stay. So I rang this place and there was only one room available with the price lower than any other hotel I saw in the booking app.

It was located at the heart of Newman so you could just walk to IGA or Woolworths. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't expect so much about our room and it turned out AMAZING. The room was big with a very comfortable queen-sized bed, a couch, and huge bathroom. The room was also clean. They had big mining machinery around the accommodation to accompany us. It was a very beautiful and nice stay. We will come back surely for the next visit.

The only minus point about our stay was that our car was parked quite far from our room but we didn't mind it.

Great customer care and information

Best visitor centre we have been to. We camped in the carpark and took the brilliant mine tour with a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide topped off with scones jam and cream and coffee afterwards. The shop doubles as a mini museum and outside there is mining machinery to be explored. Well done Newman

Very friendly staff. This is a great asset to the town. The mine tour was a great hit. The shire should be proud of towns like Newman Tom Price and Marble Bar.

With no caravan parks in Newman open to the public during the Oct 2020 holidays, the Info and Visitor Centre took the initiative and provided overflow space for Campers and Caravans. Great friendly staff always willing to help.

Wow what can we say about this fantastic Visitor Info Centre at Newman WA. Very friendly helpful staff on arrival. A great area to sit and have a coffee and cake whilst watchibg the mining Video. Very interesting to see what happens with the Iron Ore that is mines here. Lots of souvenirs available, maps and books as well as all the usual travelling information.

it's ok full of gifts , however just next door to the information centre is a room filled with local history , started by a lady that is passionate about the artifacts and local history she has collected or been given , informative and funny stories on Newman and the locals who created the town worth popping in and having a chat
