Scenic History and Adventure Await at Battery Hill!

Venturing from central Port Fairy town to Battery Hill was a highlight of my visit. The walk itself was enjoyable, offering glimpses of the surrounding landscape as we made our way uphill.

Upon reaching the summit, we were greeted with breathtaking scenery and a fascinating collection of restored WW1/2 artillery. The careful preservation and restoration efforts truly allow visitors to appreciate the historical significance of the site.

For those seeking a bit of adventure, there's also a trail to explore, which I found to be quite manageable. However, I must admit, the video I captured while running the trail was a bit bumpy, so viewers should watch at their own discretion – it's a humorous reminder of the journey!

Overall, Battery Hill offers a perfect blend of history, scenery, and adventure, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Port Fairy.

Battery Hill is located at Port Fairy’s picturesque harbour with lots of history to tell. This place is overlooking Griffiths Island from the breakwater since this is just on the opposite side. This is also the access point to a breakwater where you can fish. There is also access to Bells beach.

Picnic tables and bbq available. Lots of walking and beautiful viewing to do. Fish n chips is 5 min drive away. Parking is few but not so busy at all. No entrance fee either.

This is a very beautiful place to visit with nice blue waters and a very good spot to take lots of pics.The water here is so clear that u can see lots of fish just swim thru it .nice place for a short or long walkon a sunny day
This place is only 30 mins drive from warnambool .you will need a max of 2hrs of u choose to go upto the lighthouse or else u can just go do the short walk .which could be upto 1hr.

Battery Hill is great piece of history and just a small part of it as there is plenty more history around in this magnificent small coastal town. Definitely put this town on your must visit list, you won't be disappointed.

Great spot for a picnic. The canons are missing at the moment as they have been removed for maintenance. Cannons repaired and replaced 2023
