Canton Restaurant

We came for the $25 business lunch which was short wonton soup and my husband Andrew had the chicken sweetcorn soup, then honey chicken and sweet and sour pork and fried rice was excellent and service from Judy was very good as well, will recommend this Cantonese restaurant in Charles st Launceston.

This is an excellent lunch venue. The food is very very nice and the wait staff are even nicer. 👌 The ambience is relaxed and very friendly

An enjoyable experience. My friend and I started off with short soup and spring rolls for entree. And then we shared beef & black bean, honey chicken and fried rice. (The honey chicken was particularly good). All the food was served hot and was well presented
The service was very friendly and attentive. Reasonable prices.

Got take away as a last minute decision. The food was incredible and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Highly recommend 👌

Lovely lunch, great food and service 😋 very well priced

Familiar and comforting Chinese food (for Chinese!). Our 2nd visit in a week and it did not disappoint. Of the other 2 prominent Chinese restaurants here, we felt this to be closest to our Chinese palate. The ma poh bean curd was particularly enjoyable and authentic.

The meals are always good and tasty and fresh especially the dim sims and house special

Went out for dinner Friday night and found the Canton to have great food & service, friendly staff. All in all we had an enjoyable night.

Really great vegetarian/vegan options including very tasty mapo tofu and fried rice - will return next trip!

As a Cantonese, I appreciate the dishes. They are light and delicious, taste like what we’d cook at home. It’s a family owned restaurant started in 1961 and the granddaughter is running it. Service is warm and friendly.

Delicious Chinese food. Ordered a special fried rice and two vegetable dishes. Really enjoyed all of it.

As authentic and old school as it gets, with the fabulous company of family and lt friends, comfort and easy atmosphere... this Chinese Restaurant never fails to deliver. Had the slow roasted crispy skin duck....crispy skin melted with the duck....divine! '
Huge menu, classics even Mapo Dofu!!! A must for Launceston visitors.

So so good- lemon duck was succulent, but don’t miss out on their dim sims.

Had shared plates, Combination sweet n sour, and House special fried rice. Delicious.
Finished off the night with a Jamaican Coffee, 🤗

We had lunch in this restaurant and ordered a duck. The duck was delicious and the taste was as great as I had it in Hong Kong. The boss was very kind and we had a wonderful chat. She also gave us a pack of dry lavender as a gift which she grew by herself. It is an excellent restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommended。

Haven't been for years, delighted to return and find they still have the same great lunch specials. Lovely fresh food. Great service!

The best authentic Chinese dishes in Launceston I have ever tasted. Recommend Prawns Win Fun with egg sauce, delicious and large servings. Reasonably priced and we were served quickly. Also has BYO
