Excellent restaurant with quality service and large portion sizes. Great value for money. Asked for an extra spicy marg and for once it was actually spicy! Highly recommend. Marlene the owner was super lovely and ordered us a cab following dinner. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic. The music and decor created the perfect atmosphere to complement the full flavours on a hot and humid night. They're open later than some other restaurants in the area, which meant we could enjoy the sunset and saunter down without fuss. Delicious food

It's a great place to eat. Everything from atmosphere, music, lighting service and food was fantastic.
If you're not expecting first class seating and instead are looking for a cantina experience this has to be it. The food is just sublime.

The reception was super friendly and they squeezed us in when the rest of town was booked out. We had an hour, no problem.
Up until this experience I thought Mexican was pretty much El Paso beans, hard chips, guac and soar cream. Not so!
Seafood fajitas with all their delicious sides with the dietary mods we needed and the selection of 6 house made chilli sauces.
The care shown with the special material tortilla steam heating pockets. They keep them hot and stop them drying out, what a great invention!
With the sauce selection, you get to pick how hot you want things and when sharing, the others get to make their own choice separate to yours.
Some of these sauces are probably banned by QLD fire service, but we bought 6 bottles to take home. No. 1, 2 & 3 are the less intense to medium. Some for home and some for Christmas stockings, a gift they will get a kick out of, from El Burro.
We are here for 3 nights, we have no need for alternatives eats places now, we are El Burro people, so fresh, healthy and tasty, bringing joy in every mouthful.
The Irish pub that rejected us will never, ever see us, or our money.
We have been to the top of the mountain folks, and it is gooooood!
The last 2 pics are dinner the next night before we ate it all up. So much food for the price and what a treat to eat. The ponchos are available if you get a bit cold and a Sombrero to get you in the mood. An easy thing to achieve after a Margarita special, Olay muchuchos!

The food was awesome! We came for dine in on a Saturday night, no booking but they were still able to accommodate us. Sat at the front, they have gas heaters, ponchos or blankets to borrow on a cold night. Staff were very helpful and always checking on everyone. The food came quickly as well although it was a busy night. We left with our bellies stuffed. We ordered 2 fajitas and 3 margaritas plus avo and cheese on the side. Fajitas come with rice, tortillas and cream. For dessert, we had churros, a generous serving! Spent 135$.

Amazing, we visit quite often and we always leave happy. The prices are good, foods top quality and the place has a real vibe.

Time for an update. This time, we took our children, and the youngest has allergies. The staff knew the ingredients to everything, which was amazing! Usually, we get fobbed off because noone has any confidence in their own kitchens anymore but not here..

Service was amazing again and the manager is just so lovely and always welcoming, she couldn't do enough for us it was that good.

We'll be back again soon.

I fancy myself a bit of a Mexican food connoisseur, so I feel it is MY DUTY to tell you: this is the BEST Mexican in South East Queensland!!!

We ate here last night and EVERY single mouthful was DIVINE!!!

They have 6 homemade chili sauces, each with a different hero chili type, their own unique flavor, and differing heat strength. This meant you could play with adding different flavors and making each and every mouthful of your meal unique. So freaking cool!
I had pulled pork enchiladas and they were soooooo good that I couldn't eat everything on my plate, even though I REALLY wanted to.
My hubby got the steak fajitas. Sizzling, spicy, with well-balanced flavors. Exactly what you need in your life and your belly.

Their homemade salsa: amazing!
Homemade corn chips: yummy, crisp, and not oily or crazy salty, perfection!
Did I mention the spicy margaritas yet??? Yes homemade Spicy Margaritas that were FREAKING MIND-BLOWING!!!

I really wish we weren't headed home from holidays today so I could go back and try everything else on the menu we didn't eat!

... also who do I need to bribe to get a take-home basket of the 6 sauces, salsa, the secret to the fajitas, the litte side pico de gallo I had, the tasty rice accompaniment, the sour cream Chipotle thing my hubby got, some corn chips and like 5L of the spicy marg's?!?
... Actually, better make that 3 lots of everything cos my best friend's, and sister's families are also mad Mexican food lovers and need to try this!!!

Wow, pretty awesome Mexican! Booked in last minute and luckily there was availability. It was busy the whole time we were there. The service was great too. Didn't take long for drinks and food to come out.

Food...we ordered too much but managed to finish it as it was so tasty. Steak fajitas on a sizzle plate were good. Pulled pork tacos again great. Good spice and flavour to both dishes. If you want it spicier then add some homemade hot sauce onto it and wash it down with a margarita or two.

Had no room for dessert at the end. But they looked tasty. Would deffo recommend to anyone visiting the area.

This is my favourite restaurant in the world. We go here when we are celebrating something special. The margaritas are perfection and do yourself a favour and try the fajita! Also the WHOLE menu is 100% Gluten Free! Perfect for a celiac like me, no worries at all! Also the owner is so lovely and always remembers us!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and friendly staff! Everything was made fresh and the staff were super helpful. We’ve been here a few times and even the takeaway is great. Parking is usually pretty good and right out the front. Highly recommend the fajitas, jalapeño poppers and churros!

Absolutely fantastic. Food was out of this world. Meals are authentic, tasty, and restaurant is really quirky and cool. I felt like I was in Mexico. Now I want to drive all the way back to Mount Tamborine just to eat here again. Yummy 10 out of 10 for food and service. Highly recommend.

Our running group did our annual pub run once again stopping at elburro for a yummy large frozen margarita. From the moment I mentioned that we were coming through to the night the communication, the organisation and on the night service spot on even with us coming through in peak dinner time nothing was to much work. Thankyou again for hosting us and we will be back again next year for drinks and in as well as in the mean time for dinner

This place is simply amazing. Wait times for food were a little long but that was ok as it was very busy and totally understandable. The food was 100% on point. The house made chilli sauces are also 100% on point and a must try for anyone thinking of going. Service was fantastic, it was super busy and the floor staff handled it very well.
The atmosphere @ El Burro Cantina is huge such a quaint little resteraunt with big vibes and amazing food.

My husband and I booked after a recommendation from a friend and we are so glad we did.
The wings were a winner, the steak fajitas were fantastic and the churros were the best we have ever had. We shared entree and mains so we could have a dessert each.
My mocktail- the Juanita- was fantastic.
Definitely put this gem on your to do list if you are ever in the area. Definitely book. We went on a Wednesday and the restaurant was pretty much booked solid.

This was our 2nd visit. We took our mum this time. She loved the bright colours . The food was absolutely amazing as usual and such big helpings. The atmosphere was so happy….i could honestly say I felt relaxed and staff were on top of their game. Big smiles. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this place!!! Each of the in-house made hot sauces were brilliant and the top ones have great flavour as well as a kick. Make sure you save room for dessert and a shot of caramel tequila

One of the best Mexican restaurants!! The service was amazing, with the whole team being incredibly accommodating to our large group. They made the birthday girl feel extra special. The chili margs were fantastic too! Highly recommend this place for its exceptional service, delicious food, and memorable atmosphere. We'll be back soon!

One of the best Mexicans I've had. Not only are the mains huge (you could easily share them) but they make their own hot sauces, which are all superb, and the service is 10/10. We had the best dinner here, and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Easily the best Mexican from the Gold Coast to Brisbane with such a fun atmosphere. Love visiting el burro, the staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful and the food is made with love, always! Don’t leave the jalapeño poppers off your order when visiting they are to die for!
