Again, a definite must on your visit to this area. Very interesting - especially when you have children - to show them the Cassowary footprints trail and the "nest." Advice - good walking shoes - it is slippery when wet. Just looking at the magic trees and Palmtrees is worthwhile to spend an hour or more here. Congratulations to the rangers - they are doing an amazing job. And if you are lucky, you might spot a Cassowary (be careful)

Unforgettable spot.
I got dizzy looking up at the canopy all the time. We did not see cassowaries here but met friendly rangers with machetes and chainsaws

This is a true rainforest hiking experience. We were expecting to see a cassowary here around 3pm on a hot day but there was none:( Dont forget to spray mosquito repellent here.

Nice walks. Cleverly done path for kids to follow the cassowary footprints to the 'nest' of eggs.

Excellent kid-friendly place to go for a short walk in the rainforest. I think that walk was only about 10-15 minutes. There are longer hikes available, but you need to come prepared for those.

Includes a picnic area. There's a good change you might spot a cassowary here.

Lovely 'snap shot' walk of a rain forest with the gorgeous licuala palms.

An easy walk with lots of information boards. We were lucky to see two cassowaries at different points.

One from the best place in Australia to get experience with cassowaries (best time early in the morning). If face to face, just be quite (do not move or talk) and enjoy watching them. They are not going to attack you if you do not make them somehow scared. They are pretty smart and calculating. If collecting something higher on trees they can be very tall, I guess 2.2 m no problem.

During wet season in the night you can see magical light emitting mushrooms here.

A good place close to mission Beach for a walk in the jungle/rainforest. It is good that a number of trees are labelled to help identify the plants etc.
If you are lucky you might see a cassowary.

Beautiful rainforest walk through fan palm forest. Almost guaranteed a Cassowary meeting there and you can also take the little ones on a Cassowary tracking adventure to find a Cassowary nest

A beautiful part of the rainforest. A few mozzies because of the rain, so wear some repellent.
