South Dubbo Tavern

We were staying in Dubbo for a few days and found this on google maps.

Exactly what you want a suburban pub to be. Indoor and outdoor seating areas, great food with deals each day of the week, and friendly service. They are clearly doing something right, it was packed on a Wednesday night! Locals and visitors.

A fabulous fenced playground area makes this a very family friendly pub.

Visited Thursday night for Ribs & Rump. Fast service, staff friendly and with a smile. Made you feel welcomed. Food was great.

We stopped here on our way through Dubbo for dinner and it was a great meal for the price. Also huge kids play area which is always a bonus when travelling with kids.

We had our staff Christmas party in the private room upstairs, and it was fantastic! The Christmas meal provided was delicious, and they did an excellent job catering for several gluten free guests. We also loved that we could play our own music over the built in speakers, and that there is a private bar in the room too

Fantastic experience - the food was great, and the little tented areas inside the playground are a great place to enjoy your night out, and keep an eye on your kids at the same time.

On an overnight stop travelling from Brisbane to Adelaide and we were sick of takeaway food. Had a fantastic reef n beef here and the staff were super friendly.

Had a friend in town, so we went up to the south Dubbo Tavern for a counter lunch it was absolutely magnificent even the chef came out and had a chat. Very friendly staff, nice dining area, great food and cold beer.

We had a great time here. The playground was the best part as it kept our son busy whilst we were relaxing, enjoying our drink and food! ;) (main reason we came here!) The outdoor dining area directly connected to playground allows us to supervise our son playing whilst providing good pub athmosphere. The food was good and well priced. We will come back again the next time we visit Dubbo.

Went for a friend's birthday dinner with a fairly large number. Nothing was a trouble for the staff and service was quick. Meal prices were exceptional and the meals were of high quality. It was an affordable celebration, enjoyed by all of us. 👍🙂

They are very nice here you also get free soft drinks if you're playing the pokies,kid friendly and they have a little park as well.

This is a great place to have dinner with kids. If your travelling and want a nice atmosphere with kids! Nice local feel.

Went here midday on a Monday and the lady serving the bar couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We ordered the chicken ceasar salad and it was right up there with the best I've had. Proper cooked chicken breast and plenty of it. Well done!

Relaxed venue, family friendly, cold drinks and great value meals. An easy night out for dinner and drinks from friendly staff.

Great venue. Fantastic food. Good atmosphere

We ate here last night and it was such a nice experience. We are in town for a wedding and weren’t sure where to go for dinner. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and priced really well. I got the steak chips and salad for about $20. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and even though it was busy everyone was being looked after. We will definitely be back again!

Bit torn about this review. The meal we had was what you would expect from a tavern and was a high standard. The bar staff and kitchen staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you (even got a doggy bag for left over food from the kids, hard to get that at home). Only let down was 1 employee who had family or friends at that time, and she seemed to feel entitled and continually seemed to get in the way even though she saw us coming. I really felt like giving lower stars, but can't do it because of 1 staff member.

Great place to eat with great daily deals. Very welcoming staff. The $16.5 rump steak was beautiful. Worth driving too

Terrific family friendly hotel with good pub grub and plenty of open areas.

Great prices, awesome meal and they were able to cater for my son who is coeliac so that was a huge advantage.
