Lovely place with good food and a great atmosphere. We came for a late lunch and really enjoyed our short stay. Given the rainy weather, we really enjoyed a good tea with our food.

Doma offers a deliteful Japanese dining experience blending traditional flavors with modern twists. As a lover of shiso, I was thrilled to find its vibrant flavor infused throughout their dishes. From savory sushi rolls to flavorful creations each bite was a celebration of this aromatic herb. What sets Doma apart is its skillful fusion of traditional ingredients with innovative cooking techniques resulting in light yet satisfying meals. Whether enjoying their signature sushi platter or exploring other menu options Doma ensures a culinary journey that is both memorable and deeply satisfying.

Amazing place had a wedding I went to and this place was 5 mins down the road so dropped in for lunch, apparently it closed at 2pm but I was there at 2.30 eating the Japanese lunch special so the hours must be wrong on google.. It was so good I took the rest of the gang back for breakfast the next day. Highly recommended the sushi special for $35 it's fantastic

If you are anywhere near Federal NSW this is a must do place to eat. My husband claims this was the best steak sandwich in Au and I had a taste bud explosion with their Japanese sushi plate. Absolutely delicious. Great staff and chilled location.

The best meal I have had all year. An outstanding Japanese experience. I had been for breakfast a few times, and it was sensational so I was excited to try their dinner service but was completely blown away. I’m not one to usually leave a review, but this meal definitely called for it. Seating was in an outdoor enclosed area, which I was a little apprehensive of due to the cold, though there were so many heaters I hardly needed a jacket, it created the most cozy feel. The service was like no other, from the moment we were seated we were treated like family. All the waiters were very knowledgeable, warm and kind. We pretty much tried the whole menu and there isn’t one dish that we didn’t love. It wasn’t just food but art. Flavours we had never even considered. It was truely a special meal. My favourite was the sake shooter or the main tuna. It was literally the best fish i’ve ever had, completely melting like butter. I can’t wait to come back for any occasion, and truely couldn’t congratulate the team behind doma more. True hospitality and sensational food. This is what it means to be an outstanding restaurant.

The expectation when visiting an unknown restaurant/Cafe will always be stuck in the middle ground. Everything from the front of house to the chefs in the back. Nothing on any given day will be the same.

Doma was under no other circumstance. The Cafe was recommended from a close friend and so I had to try it out.

I must say, from the absolute beginning to the very end, was nothing short of an amazing morning. The front of house where nice, polite and very friendly and the food that came after was incredible. The flavours, the textures, the sauce & the coffee. All of it, completely and utterly beyond any experience that I've had for quite a while.
Highly recommended. Will be back in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for making my partner and my morning a great one.

Matt

Love the food and coffee! The doma breakfast is great and the French toast is the best I've ever had. The lunches are really interesting and delicious. Nice garden to relax with kids or dogs. The coffee is also great!

I love the Doma. OMG! The food is out of this world. The flavours, tastes and textures you are never going to manage to make yourself at home. Service is exceptional and the atmosphere is cool, comfortable and relaxed. Try the eggplant. Utterly divine.

Well worth stopping in for lunch if you're in the Byron hinterlands (this Japanese inspired cafe is on the way to Minyon Falls). The salads were fantastic - fresh prawns with loads of flavour. Great coffee as well. There's lovely outdoor seating next to a herb garden. This was one of our favourite gems of the Byron area.

Doma is hands down my favourite restaurant on the northern rivers. I come here every week for years and everything is always perfect.
The food is nothing less than divine. They take simple dishes and elevate them into a new realm.
Staff are gorgeous and just so good at what they do.
Thank you Doma you are wonderful.

WOW! The food at Doma is amazing. Kick back in an idyllic garden setting, relax and wait for what might me some of Australia’s best Japanese food. Lunchboxes to go for $18 are well worth the visit and the plated food is top notch. The salmon with Japanese style hash browns with sourdough is worth the drive alone. Coffee is great. Just an all round wonderful experience.

Great cafe in a beautiful part of the world 🌿.

Love the Japanese influence of this cafe and had one of the best iced matchas ever here. The matcha is whisked properly and is very high quality, making a heavenly drink 💛.
I also loved the matcha panna cotta 💛.

We will definitely be making this our staple morning spot when in the hinterland area 💛.

Excellent food in a charming little town. The menu has plenty of creative dishes like the Mr. Korokke hand roll (which is awesome!) and the service is great. If you're stating in Byron (or near enough by), it's well worth your time to visit Federal for lunch at this gem of a cafe.

Great little find with some seriously good eats. The Cauliflower Karage with vermicelli had a distinct refreshing flavour and the Chicken burger was ace. Both must tries.

Adorable little cafe that is well worth the drive. The menu is Japanese influenced so we had a very interesting bacon and egg roll. We also had the most amazing freshly baked brie and bacon twist thing (can't remember what it was called.) All the baked goods looked amazing, it was hard to pick! The line doesn't move very quickly there so make sure you have time to spare when stopping in.
