Really nice camping area. We had site no.2, which is the 1st one on your left as you come through the gate. Great size & a nice distance from our neighbours. Went on the 2km rainforest walk to Brushbox Falls. Very beautiful.. the walk & the Falls. Only stayed 1 night, but it was definitely worth the visit. Came in through Kyogle & left via the Tweed Scenic Route. Definitely wouldn't take a caravan on the Tweed Scenic Route. About 37km of dirt road, only 1 vehicle wide, so it's a slow trip. Definitely don't want to meet another 4x4 coming the other way, it's a VERY tight squeeze in some parts, but, in saying that, it is an absolute beautiful drive. Definitely stop at The Pinnacle, it's a small 200m walk to the viewing deck. Ypu get a great view of the Caldera.

Lovely camp ground. Walked to nearby fields and sunset was beautiful, stargazing a must. Very quiet and respectful campers. Scary bathrooms, but who cares. Bush walk to waterfalls also very nice.

Absolutely stunning. Great spot to put up the tent and enjoy the sound of the bush. Great history to take in with jaw dropping views on the hiking trails. Overnight hike and tent camping also. A must see

Great campsite, fantastic weather approximately 20-25 degrees in late September. Windy in the tree tops but a gentle breeze on the ground. Google street view out of date and campsites are fantastic and spacious, easy to get even large caravans in if you choose the rite spot (26 likely easier than even site 1 or 2). Dirt roads in over the last 10 minutes but 2WD accessible. Minimal phone reception. Lots of walks nearby. Everyone really courteous and spaced sufficiently so that you have your own little patch of nature. Kyogle 20-30 minutes away if you need to resupply. Lions rd access across the border shut for caravans until Feb24 apparently so had to take Mt Lindsey Hwy all the way across the border then turn in, beautiful drive so wasn’t upset.

The drive into Sheepstation Creek camp has recently been graded & is very easy to access without 4WD. Grounds and facilities are very well maintained and we really enjoyed our stay despite the rain & fog.
Although the main walking track out from camp was closed due to maintenance, we were able to drive further into the Park to enjoy some of the other open walks.
Wildlife is all around the site, including many species of birds, wallabies, possums - it's an excellent spot to sit & relax.

One of the best campgrounds I have ever been! Very basic amenities but you don’t need more. Plenty of space although we were sharing the campground with only one other person (not sure how busy can get in summer). Beautiful walks next to the campground, highly recommended

This campground has pit toilets, some hardstand campgrounds and one communal cooking and undercover eating area. Road in has been recently graded although access from the Queensland side is limited now the Lions Rd is closed due to a landslide. Walking tracks in the area are mostly not available at this time but work is underway to restore.

Camping on the decks was a lot of fun. The website wasn’t super intuitive as it didn’t explain there’s steps between where you park and camp so if you’re camping out of your vehicle maybe call up to work out which site to choose if you haven’t been there before

Campsite was being fully renovated when we visited but looked great for all types of camping. Walking trails link you to the Forest Tops camp ground.

Just spent 5 nights here, such a lovely place! The campground is well set out & now that you have to book you can arrive knowing that a spot will be available for you & not already taken. Very important for people coming from a fair distance away. We were in our caravan so the lack of showers & other amenities didn't bother us (in fact it is a bonus as it means not as many people would stay there) & our site (site 2) was perfect for the van & even had a picnic table for us to eat at. We loved the fact that the campsites were fairly well spaced in small clusters so it wasn't crowded at all. Price is a little bit expensive at $24/night for 2 people, there are some other campgrounds around the area that are cheaper, we bought an annual pass for the National Park entry which worked out cheaper. All in all we had a lovely relaxing time & will definitely be back.

Having been through the Border Ranges on many occasions, I always make it a point to stop here. I just love this area so peaceful, and there is always One or Two tents pitched. No mod cons, there is a drop pit toilet facility. One time I stayed here for so long I did not leave until 10pm ... at night it was just so tranquil and dark (no light pollution).
