Spent two consecutive weekends running Crowdy Bay National Park. First week started at Crowdy Head and headed north through the park. Its a strange national park, quite sparse in vegetation throughout, but strangely attractive. It is dominated by the coastal heath that grows in the park. When I was there there were lots of dead trees. I was told this was from fires earlier in the year. The second week I came down from the north, from Kylies Beach Campground and Diamond Head. Same vegetation. There are sweeping views of the Three Brothers, which dominate the park. I would highly recommend taking a look at this classic coastal park. Note that the main vehicular access track does not connect, so you can't go from north to south but rather have to head inland.

Go do the Diamond Head Loop walk. Made up of two different walks, that meet up to form a loop, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the views and flora. Look out for whales, seals and dolphins.

The area is still bushfire damaged but it’s incredible seeing how quick nature grows. The second half of the loop goes through forest with lots of native flowers to inspect, and Kangaroos to intimidate you (yo they’re so jacked, I need the routine).
The first half is along the coast, with a few ways to get off the track and get a closer look at the rocky outcrops. There are paths along the track, but I did not realise this and spent way too long slowly manoeuvring the slopes to get to a pretty looking cliff (well worth it, see photos).

This is so far the prettiest walk i’ve been on and you’ll see why.

Walked today about 6kms, windy and rain (it is summer!) But gorgeous flowers like in spring! Worth the effort...

Beautiful camp ground and beach.

Protecting a pristine sweep of coastline at the northern tip of the Barrington Coast, Crowdy Bay National Park is one of the most glorious coastal parks of NSW. It offers jaw-dropping ocean and mountain views, an abundance of wildlife and, despite its name, crowd-free beaches.

The best part? That’s for you to decide, but if you dream of camping on ocean shores, strolling barefoot in the dunes, roving a rainforest, seeing a whale blow or even discovering a hidden writer’s retreat, then this is the place for you.

Aboriginal people have known its bountiful wonders for over 6000 years, Captain Cook glimpsed its glittering beauty in 1770 and it is all still here for you to enjoy.

Go for a day or plan to stay, but be aware that this is a place so enthralling that time slips away.

3 different camp sites, toilets and showers with lights, well maintained, 4 wheel drives allowed on the beach, it is quite a long drive on a dirt road to access the beaches and campsites

Nice place to camp.
Beware of wildlife, only AWD OR 4*4 please,
Otherwise its a long gravel road and could get dangerous at night.
Otherwise its safe and only one of few place to watch Kangaroos 🦘 on beach on earth.

Absolutely beautiful and untouched beaches. Divine and cannot wait to be back.
Campgrounds have no facilities apart from drop toilets and cold showers. Come prepared or self sufficient for a comfortable stay.

I LOVE CROWDY!!! it is such a beautiful beach untouched by any tourism or industry. I have so many great memories here and I can not think. Of any other place in our great country that I would rather be.

Lovely national park, lots of hiking tracks. Great beach and 4wd access. Dirt road through the national park, well maintained (a little bumpy at times), can easily go on with 2wd.

On the beautiful beach. Staff unfortunately aren't trained rangers & didn't know what to do with injured wildlife we gave them. STOP CONTRACTING OUT WORK IN OUR NATIONAL PARKS!

Diamond Head Campground is a great place to take the family camping or caravanning. Good waves and nice treks around the headland. Plenty of kangaroos and goannas who like to hang out with the campers.
