Shoal Bay Country Club

We had breakfast at Mermaids cafe. It was my second time here for breakfast. The Eggs Benedict is so delicious so I had to come back. The view is always beautiful, whatever the weather, the service is good.
I highly recommend popping here.

Only visited to use the bathroom.
Such a wow factor establishment.
Every time I turned a corner there was another speciality room.
Every dining area was full of happy customers.
I will certainly be going to eat here next time.
There was a show on stage for the kids and they looked as though they were having the time of their lives.

I came in with my friends a few days ago and the service was incredible! Food was amazing and such a beautiful location. I will definitely be coming back. The girl that helped us was named Janessa I think, she was hilarious and very helpful! Overall great experience!

We came to Shoal Bay Country Club couple of times for drinks during our visit to Nelson Bay. The location is perfect right in front of the beach. There was some live music. Both indoor and outdoor was nicely decorated and loved it.

beautiful location and lovely dining area perfect for sunset! food was lovely, we had a mix of some pizzas, sides and a few cocktails. all the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Tom who made our night speaking about his travels and recommending his favourite cocktails to us. would definitely recommend!!

Restaurant overlooks Shoal Bay Pier with lovely open views. Second story gets you above the traffic below.
Tables for two by the windows are the best, if you can snag one.

Wood fired pizza is amazing!
Seafood basket not so much.
Over breaded and soggy. Give it a pass.

Perfect service and delicious food! I love blue crab pasta and oysters! Definitely I will recommend it to my friends! We came to the restaurant mainly because of a recommendation from a friendly local uber driver although I know it is a famous restaurant online. Having dinner when the sun was setting is a pleasant choice! The second day morning we also came for brunch, flat white & the salmon benedict was the best choice for a lovely new day！

Stopped in for dinner with my partner enjoyed the dinner and the wide selection of cocktails. Whilst at the bar, struck up a conversation with Tom and Eddie - clearly an enjoyable workplace which only adds to the atmosphere.

Will definitely visit again!

The food upstairs at Mermaids was brilliant. The service was spectacular. We came here every day and Heather took care of us so well. I was very impressed with how hard and fast she worked!

Visiting Shoal Bay Country Club was an absolute delight! Loved our visit here, especially to the Mermaids cafe. We were served by an amazing young gentleman named Beau. He had a huge smile on his face as he greeted us and seemed to be loving working there. His service was very prompt and professional. I hold high hopes for him and his career there to come in the later years.

Beautiful food and amazing view thr place is so pretty too., the staff were fantastic and we are so glad we visited. We had the lobster 🦞 pasta , the squid is the best ... and it was so delicious. The kids enjoyed their fish and chips and cheeseburger the watermelon 🍉 tequila was so good !! We will definitely come back here !! Thank you.

Great vibe, close to the water with fantastic views of the bay. Music was playing and the breeze from the bay gave it an upbeat vibe.

Food was fresh and delicious, I had the crab spaghetti which was expensive, but they were pretty generous with the crab. My hubby had the prawn linguine - which was good, but the flavour was a little flat. We took our daughters who had burgers (decent sized patties) and shared a salt and pepper calamari - delish and very generous again!

We had a couple of cocktails that were pretty amazing, so definitely worth trying.

They got very busy (it was a Monday night just before Christmas) at about 7pm, so service was pretty slow - but still friendly and I'm a massive fan of QR code table ordering.

All up - a bit expensive at just short of $220 for our meal, but we were a bit indulgent with our choices cause we were in holiday mode. You could probably grab Pizzas and wine/beer and it would be much cheaper.

All in all, worth checking out!

The food was really wonderful, in particular the blue swimmer crab spaghetti, which could have been plated at a high end restaurant. A special thank you to Teagan and chef Aishish who went out of their way to look after the vegetarian on the table, and adapted a pasta dish to make her dining experience exceptional. Definitely drop in, it's worth your while.

We had a wonderful meal and were looked after beautifully by Mia and the manager(sorry I can’t remember your name Ariana?) in particular who graciously and calmly dealt with an unpleasant customer. All the staff were friendly and helpful and it was extremely busy. We had a table by the window which was lovely with a lovely sea breeze and view across the jetty and the bay and the rump steak was cooked to perfection.
Thank you very much again Mia for looking after us with your helpful, cheerful, calm and happy demeanour it made our time there last night.

The location, and atmosphere was great, the place was buzzing. The Manager Teigan, was fantastic, assisting with mobility and seating, assuring we were happy with the meals. She went above and beyond, so happy with the service.
The staff genuinely friendly. The cocktails the best we've had, perfect! Not the first time we've been there, and definitely would recommend it, we will be going back!

Didn't stay but the restaurant was great. Enjoyed my meal. They bring your entree with your main meal which really sucks, makes sure you ask for separation if that's what you like. Very popular so get there early like we did or book.

Last night we dined at the SBCC. I ordered the Vietnamese chicken salad. It looked stunning but unfortunately was too Spicey for me. A waitress noticed and asked if everything was okay and when I told her a lovely team member approached and asked if I would prefer something else. In 2 minutes I had the Pumpkin and feta salad in front of me. Delivered with a smile and such professionalism . I believe her name is Ivanka ( hope I got it right) she is a credit to the place. .

Food and service is amazing!! We had breakfast at the Mermaid Cafe all 4 days while we were in Shoal Bay and the care taken by Lucy in the cafe was wonderful, she was so welcoming as was all the staff that it ensured we came back every morning.

Bar staff were terrific. Met Mia who served every customer with a wonderful smile from the start of the night right through till the end. Awesome to see people enjoy what they do!
