Blue Gem Caravan Park

Excellent customer service, great location right on the retreat Creek fossicking for sapphires is just a walk down the creek. They have fossicking licencing and equipment to buy and use when you start your adventure.

I had an excellent stay and the staff was very friendly. The food it great and there's a creek that's directly behind the park where you can go fossicking as well while you stay at the park.
The showers and toilets was very clean. And has a decent camp kitchen.

Travelling through with my son on our motorbikes and stayed the night there. Management and staff were very friendly and accommodating and the park and amenities were well set out and spotlessly clean. Happy to recommend it to family and friends.

Great little caravan park. Cabin was clean and big enough for 4 of us. All kitchen equipments are clean and new. Nice big fridge/freezer is good for preparing ice etc for ongoing trip. WiFi kept drop but it was good to spend time with teenager kids. We bought a bucket for washing and found many sapphires. My hubby stated he had one of the best burger. Staff are really nice and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Stopped opposite the Blue Gem with vehicle breakdown waiting for tow truck from Emerald. Went into the Trading Post for fish and chips and I was mentioning to my husband how lovely the staff were. Imagine how I felt when our order arrived with a big cheerful birthday message written on the packet, a chocolate mousse complete with candle and the three lovely ladies singing happy birthday. Now I will remember my birthday for all the right reasons. (The fish and chips were delicious as well).

Loved it. We stayed here a week. What a Great place to base yourself out of. Clean amenities block, friendly people, there's there's small supermarket, petrol station, they have a takeaway shop and you can fossick in the park. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will come back again

It was a surprise to find the site was so clean and the toilets were well set out and clean. It was quiet and with the trees made the park very homely. The manager was always on the spot assisting me with the connections etc with my motorhome. They deserve to be successful. I'm from the Gold Coast, Bruce.

On a two week holiday to Sapphire had food from the Blue Gem often they know how to make a burger and they have roasts and a different variety of meals quality home cooked highly recommend

It is a small caravan park. I would recommend checking out where your spot is before driving in as it can be a tight fit for larger vans. Each camp spot is easily marked. Amenities are clean and staff are friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay here. Large sites. Staff are so friendly and helpful. 10 mins to Rubyvale. Very clean facilities. Good laundry.

Nice level pitches, 10 minutes drive to the heritage mines. Has a servo and takeaway food. Site has a camp kitchen with bbq's

I haven’t stayed there but I have eaten the Takeaway and I can tell you that they cook up a bloody great feed very friendly staff and owners happy to send you in the right direction if you need to know something about area

Been here before and thoroughly recommend! Amenities basic but spotless, Great clean little friendly park.. Great food.. Will definately be back..

Well clearly this place is beautiful and has a great deal to offer to one and all. My family are enjoying everything and more of this once in a lifetime trip away in a caravan. Along with friends and new acquaintances they set off a month ago and have enjoyed every minute of it. With Covid around and not being able to travel to far this is the place to be this time of year. In and around Longreach Winton Anakie Moura Roma gem fields etc. they highly recommend anyone to do this trip of a lifetime, me included.?

Potato cakes and seafood sticks are 👍. If you can phone your order through they are always busy and that's out of season so winter and gem fest phone through. Fuel is cheap too

Awesome pet friendly caravan park. Really helpful staff and relaxed setting for seeing the gemfields. Great fossicking park and founds a few sapphires in the buckets we sorted!
